We made the mistake of going from Oia to Fira, so most of it was uphill. I'd recommend going the other way unless you like a challenge haha. I think it took between 3 - 4 hours for us, but I'm also attached to my camera so that included stopping for photo ops! You can probably do it in 2 -3 if you hike straight through
