Your nose may not like its strong odor but its addictive delicious taste & enormous amounts of health benefits has earned durian the pound for pound "King of Fruits" title. It is definitely an acquired taste but once the taste becomes enjoyable, you'll find yourself counting down to the durian's June to August season every year.

Though the taste of durian is a piece of heaven, the odor can be outright offensive to people, leading to durian being banned in most commercial outlets, hotels, airports, etc. The riper it gets the stronger the odor becomes and the more abundant the nutrients become. The durian tree can grow over 160 feet and bears fruit after 3 to 5 years.
