The Sacred Art of Thai Magic

Sak yant is the Thai art of tattooing yantras and incantations to empower a disciple of a teacher. It becomes a sacred art when it's practiced by skilled monks who teach and tattoo their disciples from their temples. The other kind is a yielder of Thai Wicca, often skilled in the arts by studying under numerous monks, Thai reusis and master Wicca practitioners. Monks tattoo their disciples with either holy ink or holy oil which are consecrated to the highest levels of divinity, the monk yielding can reach. sak yant masters who aren't monks, put power into the tattoos from the incantation invoked, after the tattoo is finished.

Introduced to Thailand by the Khmer Empire, the practice of sak yant has been an honorable tradition for Thai men. Many surrounding countries also have great monks and practitioners of yantra tattooing adapted to their own traditions. The powers that are bestowed upon sak yant grand masters & masters disciples include invincibility, impeccable charm & charisma, great fortune, spiritual protection from the dark forces, animalistic protection and great luck. In ancient times, Siamese warriors used to be protected by their yantras during battle and many powerful monks became legends during these times because of that protection.

In recent years, sak yant has hit mainstream from Ajarn Noo Kanpai (Ajarn means teacher) tattooing many Thai, Chinese & Hollywood superstars. The first superstar was Angelina Jolie with the "Ha-Teaw/5 Rows yantras" on her upper back. This yantra is usually what girls and women start with on their sak yant journeys. The other superstars that followed include Michelle Rodriguez & Cara Delevingne, Brittany Daniel and many more. The friendly argument in Thailand asks did Ajarn Noo Kanpai's yantras help Angelina Jolie became a mega superstar or did she help him become unbelievably famous.

The most famous temple for sak yant is Wat Bang Phra in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, which is 2 hours outside of Bangkok. The former Abbott Luang Por Pern (Luang Por is equivalent to reverend father) was the most famous sak yant grand master of the last generation. Luang Por Pern passed on leaving only a handful of disciples, which most of them still are robed, still tattooing to this day.

My Path Through the Art of Thai Magic

After I became a disciple of the late great Luang Por Koon, I mastered astral project from his teachings in a very short time. I was awarded two consecrated gold scrolls called takruts, in which I have inserted beneath the skin above my Adam's apple and right arm. I also managed to get my family members including my wife and daughter, along with 5 family members the same insertion at Wat Ban Rai. These were the last editions of his gold takruts that Luang Por Koon would ever make.

After Luang Por Koon passed on, I sought further knowledge and became a disciple of Luang Por Paew at the legendary Wat Bang Phra of Nakhon Pathom.

Attachment-1 (10).jpeg

He was the first monk to begin my back of Luang Por Pern's complete tiger face. Luang Por Paew is also one of the original disciples of Luang Por Pern. In Luang Por Pern's lineage, the complete sum of all the yantras together on a disciples' back makes the face of a tiger as one whole yantra. How intense is that?

Attachment-1 (8).jpeg

My second ajarn at Wat Bang Phra is Phra Maja Somchai where I have countless yantras tattooed in holy oil on my back and some yantras on my arms in holy ink. I'm also a disciple of Phra Maja Somchai's disciple, Ajarn Dam who empowered me with my "tiger's roar" & "Nai Khanom Thom" yantras.

The "Nai Khanom Thom" yantra is a more modern yantra that was created in the spirit of Muay Thai.

Attachment-1 (9).jpeg

My 3rd Ajarn Luang Por Ya is also a disciple of the late great Luang Por Pern but stays at Wat Nang Liao in Lampang, Thailand.

Attachment-1 (13).jpeg

I got the opportunity to become a monk at Wat Nang Liao with Luang Por Ya and learned about animalistic summoning from him.

Attachment-1 (12).jpeg

During my time as a monk, I received one of the highest yantras on top of my head called the "36 Directions" offering powers of protection from the dark forces and dangers in 36 directions.

A Piece of the Magic

Attachment-1 (15).jpeg

If you're visiting Thailand and want to experience our ancient tradition of sak yant then I would suggest visiting Wat Bang Phra when you're in Bangkok. Most taxis will take you for about 1500 baht, which you'd be buying comfort & time. If you're visiting Chiang Mai, I would suggest hiring a driver to take you to Lampang, which is only 80 km away. Head to Wat Nang Liao and see Luang Por Ya for multiple yantras. That's the special inside plus with Luang Por Ya being in Lampang. There's never too many people there and you can ask for multiple yantras. Monks usually give what they want each visit, but it doesn't hurt to ask for multiple ones. In this case though, it may hurt to ask.

Attachment-1 (17).jpeg

When you become a disciple of any monk, you should donate what you can & want (before receiving the tattoo). Temples usually have standard costs around 70 baht, some flowers, and incense. Giving 100 to 1,000,000 baht is fine if you want to donate more, it all goes to your ajarn who uses it to eat and live daily at the temple. A good rule of thumb is don't show up to Wat Bang Phra in Gucci loafers and donate 70 baht. The monks won't judge you, but all the disciples and temple dogs, cats & roosters may heckle you in Thai. This is more of a rule for Thai people as tourists and foreigners get a pass.

Bring some fruit juices or coconut milk to donate to the monks you choose to teach you. Because in theory and in belief, you want to keep your ajarn healthy because all of the powers that get bestowed upon you in sak yant, comes from your ajarn. When you need to re-up your powers because you didn't follow the "Sak Yant Golden Rules," you need your ajarn healthy. Golden rules include rules such as, don't curse at your parents (ever) and never have sex with a menstruating woman. The reasons why, we'll speak of in a future post because rules differ from each grand master and there are only a handful of grandmasters each century.

If you decide to become a disciple of a wicca practioner such as Ajarn Noo Kanpai like Angelina Jolie, then they usually have a price list. Each yantra has a different price, most likely according to the difficulty of the sak yant and the powers it yields. I've heard that recently, yantras from Ajarn Noo Kanpai costs over 750 STEEM or over $1500 USD. Not all sak yants costs this much and it depends on the abilities of the master. Ajarn Noo Kanpai just has Angelina Jolie on his side as a loyal disciple so one can say that the art of Thai magic definitely worked for her.

So minimalistic yet so good looking

This would be an interesting immersive experience.

Im going to do more research on this it would be nice to train for a while under a master

There are guru monks all across Thailand who specialize in different powers. You would love it and at the very least the meditation masters. Preferably those who are famous for amulets too is really cool. My 1st ajarn Luang Por Koon actually collected a 10-year debt from me and jacked into one of my astral jumps. I had to return to Wat Baan Rai, do a great deed and so my journey in Thai Buddhism began that day. Hope to be reading about yours one day soon my friend :)

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome weekend!

Que impresionantes fotografías

Let the magic pour out of them into your soul!!! I am a big fab of magic and after seeing this definitely i will go and look more into it.

Magic backed by kindness is quite awesome. The fact that I'm breathing and able to read your awesome comment is magic in itself. Thanks for coming by and hope you have an awesome weekend!

Super cool article. I wonder what type of tattooing equipment is used? An ancient technique. Different that the high tech precision that is used in the US in your average tattoo shop?

It's the big metal rod in the video that keeps stabbing me over and over again :) It's all done by hand. Dip the tip of the rod in the ink and go....lol. Thanks for stopping by and hope you have an awesome weekend!

Thanks and Ouch!

Wow! Very interesting. Never thought of tattoos in this aspect.
Sounds like a real deep experience.
What amazes me is the fact that they allow you to take photos. Usually these practices are so hidden, so as to not to lose the energy of the practice.
Thank you so much for sharing.

To a monk, it's only a phone with a camera...LOL. It's a great journey to embark on. Mine took 5 years, I still have 1 left, the last tiger on my chest has taken 3 years to almost complete. Meaning I must complete my task first like Van Helsing :) I chose a task with Luang Por Ya that seems impossible to most. So if you see me with a tiger on my chest this year, you know the force is strong in the yantra :) Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome weekend!

Woa. It's amazing. I like this. Thanks for your sharing

So happy to see you like it and thanks for coming by. Hope you have a magnificent weekend!

Thanks a million and have an awesome weekend!

This is amazing! It's great to read about it, because last summer was the first time that I've heard of it! I didn't get the chance to go there yet, but with your suggestions I will definitely head over there the next time when I'm in Thailand :) A friend of mine told me that he was there and explained it to me - it's very interesting! Thank you for sharing :)

It's something that's both artistic and spiritualistic at the same time. Hope to see you with pictures of your yantras one day soon :) Thanks for coming by and have a wonderful weekend.

On the Sak yant there are many stories and legends. A huge number of people say and write that after drawing sacred drawings their lives change dramatically, and desires are fulfilled. And personally, I think it's 100% true. There is a feeling of some inner fullness and variability, a feeling of greater self-confidence and a fearless look into the future. From the date of application of Sak yant constantly accompanied by a feeling of calm and things are going good like obstacles step aside when they approach them. Feel refreshed, changed, free, able to realize everything that is conceived.

For myself, it's been a journey of spiritual awareness and awareness of my duties in the rules of the grid we live on. I've been honored to have had the great mentors and even if you don't get tattoos, it's still awesome to spend a whole day at Wat Bang Phra. Even better the "Wai Kru" ceremonies, the 1st quarter of every year. I super appreciate you coming by and hope you have an incredible weekend!

Hmmm, this would be a wonderful experience to have. Would love to visit Thailand sometime and hopefully get a chance at it. Nice one really.

I hope to one day soon be reading your posts about Thailand. I hope cryptocurrencies allows us all to visit each others countries. Thanks a million for coming by and have a terrific weekend.

Congratulation stewsak! Your post has appeared on the hot page after 41min with 16 votes.

Thank you guys!

I got a tattoo in Thailand, but... not quite like that. I honor your bravery.

There's always the next tattoo. There has to be some room on your arm left ...LOL. Super appreciate the upvote and have an awesome weekend.

Right on 😜 yeah, i've got alot of room actually. Keep inspiring, and have an awesome weekend too!

you must be a master in what you do and have a great passion for patience

I think its all about mindset... if you believe in yourself, you can empower irrespective whether you do Tattoo or not... I believe in self determination and achievement oriented mindset than in magic ... people need to think about it... but again its my individual opinion and not negative towards any rituals or community...

Some people like the use of tattoos to paint an imagery of what they want to attract in their inner self. The tattoo acts as a totem to focus on when they need a reminder of something significant. Once I can afford to I am going to be getting back into intuitive healing tattoos. I just need the space for it.

Your art is very good @stewsak ...
