It is located 150 km south of the industrial port- Chittagong. The name Cox’s Bazar was derived from its founder, Captain Cox. He founded the very attractive beach in 1798. Then the Cox’s Bazar beach started only as a small port and health resort.

The beaches of Cox’s Bazar-
Laboni beach: Laboni Beach is the main beach of Cox's Bazar.It is a sandy beach. The scenic beauty of Bay of Bengal can be enjoyed from here, many people come here. The beach is well appreciated during sunsets and sunrise, where people can witness the sea as it changes its colors twice in a day.Visitors take sunbathe, cycling here. Various handicrafts, chocolate, bar are sold in small shops.
Kolatoli beach: Kolatoli beach is another attractive beach for the tourist. Inani beach: Inani Beach is within Ukhia Thana, 35 km. to the south of Cox's Bazar.
It is surrounded with the green hill to east, the golden beach of Inani casts a music spell on anyone stepping on to its fine golden sands. Clean blue waters of the Bay of Bengal is a great source of swimming.
It is considered the world's longest and broadest beach: 180m at high tide and 300m at low tide. 18 km..

St. Martins: St. Martins Island is the most beautiful Coral Island where you will find live corals. Its the only coral island of Bangldesh. It is also known as the Narikeljinjira that means coconut island
Transportation: Its only 30 km from Teknaf . Tourist boats, or sea truck or motorbike can be used to reach.
