Fuelled by good food, we explored the flora and fauna side of Hong Kong at the Sai Kung islands, Lai Chi Wo and Lantau. Follow along as we do a taste test to see if we can differentiate the halal and non-halal classic Hong Kong dishes and all our quirky adventures!

00:27 Chrisly Cafe - The first Cha Chaan Teng that we visited once we touched down in Hong Kong!

00:35 Kam Wah Cafe is known for their truffle egg toast, and it was delishhhhh~

00:37 Mido cafe - One of the oldest Cha Chaan Teng in HK

00:45 View of Hong Kong City Skyline from Tsim Sha Tsui

00:52 Sai Kung - We started our trip by getting on boat and exploring the area that’s best known for it’s busy floating seafood market!

01:26 Tim Ho Wan - Getting our food at Tim Ho Wan, a famous chain restaurant that started in Hong Kong!

01.29 Ma’s restaurant - Beef Noodles which we purchased for the sake of our taste test challenge!

01:44 Wai Kee Duck Rice - Halal duck rice with really crispy skin!

02:00 - 10:25 - Halal vs Non-Halal food taste test! We tried Halal (Ma's Restaurant) and Non-Halal beef noodles (Kuen Kee) and Halal (Wai Kee Duck Rice) and Non-Halal (Keung Kee Roasted Meat Restaurant) duck/goose rice. Let's see what the verdict is! :-)

10:27 Sai Kung Islands - Visiting the Sai Kung islands on boat led by our tour guide

11:34 Sai Kung Cafe & Bakery - Famous for their Bolo Bun, which was really yummy!

11:42 Mui Kee Congee - Finally getting to try the famous congee that we missed out on - they had a pop-up store in Singapore last year.

11:46 Yee Shun Milk Company - This place is known for their steamed milk pudding, so of course we had to try it.

11:50 Central Pier - Where you take ferries out to the other outlying islands of Hong Kong

12:06 Lantau Island - Hiked our way from Fanlau to Yi O farm for lunch

13:02 Lai Chi Wo - We went on a hike to explore one of the last remaining Hakka Villages in Hong Kong

14:15 Sai Kung East Dam - This time, we explored the East end of Sai Kung, and saw beautiful s-shaped hexagonal rocks

Have you guys been to Hong Kong? Share with us your experiences!
