I have always wondered about this topic for years, so thanks for posting. I remember counting down the days on a calendar until i was 21 so i could buy my first beer. On my birthday i went into a local corner store and placed a 6pack of beer on the counter. I was nervous but i knew i was ok since i was finally legally able to drink. I was shocked that the cashier never even asked for my ID. =(

That's the same case here most of the time though. Most will never ask for an ID (even tough they should).
