Eight European Cities You Should Visit And The Reasons Why

Europe is great. Food, great weather (in the south of Europe that is) and awesome nature is only a few of the reasons to visit. Here are some of my favorite European cities:

Bergen - Norway I love how Bergen is surrounded by mountains on all sides. They also have a nice harbor. There’s a lot of students in Bergen and because of that the bars are awesome! Bring an umbrella because it’s always raining in Bergen.

Chamonix - France
I've been to Chamonix several times. The town is located in the French alps, but it's also very close to Italy and Switzerland. Perfect for a ski lover like me. Après-ski , restaurants and amazing slopes. The food here is great!

Copenhagen - Denmark
Beer!! For us Norwegians it's pretty cheap too.

Bern - Switzerland
Rent a bike! Get lost, visit the botanic garden. Eat cheese.

Berlin - Germany
Culture, art and history. So many interesting things to do. Love the food there as well. I've been here many times, but everytime was so different and so good!

Split - Croatia
Nice and warm in the summertime. Beautiful ocean, but don't expect the food to be great.

Colmar - France
This is a very good looking town and the retired woman inside of me really enjoyed this place. Make sure to do a river cruise if you go there.

Warsaw - Poland
This place has a lot of history from World War II, museums and shopping (for those who like to shop). It's cheap and you can live like a king in Warsaw.  This is the capital of Poland and the old part of town is on UNESCO World Heritage list.

What's your favorite spot in Europe?

Nice choices, but Greece it's my favourite, you should consider that.

The first photo is actually from Greece! I love Greece too. (Not the Islands, but the mainland.)

Rome, Rome and Rome .... but I am a fan of the Eastern Europe cities... but have not got around to visiting them. Our currency the ZAR is pretty pathetic against other currencies. I need to earn them steems !

Oh, you are from South Africa? I would love to go there one day.
I haven't been to Rome, what did you like about it?

The history is palpable, one cannot help but feel in awe when standing in the Colloseum. The buzz around the city was fantastic and the nightlife wild (and I an old coot :)) ... We only had three days there and walked everywhere, more than 20 km's a day
Do yourself a favor ... make it to Cape Town at least once... it is beautiful. Some is displayed on my blog, @heiditravels was also here recently and blogged. And of course the exchange rate makes it very affordable.

You missed Krakow - the best city in Poland - Warsaw is a horrible big city!!

Maybe you went there a in bad time of year? I do also love Krakow, it should've been on my list! :)

No its just a horrible big city - like London! Warsaw was razed to the ground in WW2 - Krakow was left intact.
