Hitting the Dreaded Topes and Our 3rd Time Getting Pulled Over in Mexico (VIDEO)

It wouldn't be an adventure without hitting some bumps in the road...literally this time. Despite being on the road in Mexico for over a week, we hadn't yet hit a really bad "tope" (the unmarked, car-totaling Mexican version of US speed bumps) that did any damage. On our way out of Huatabampo, Mexico, however, we hit TWO. Zoiks!

In this video, we share our experience with those dreaded topes, our impressions of the hectic city of Huatabampo, and about our THIRD time getting pulled over in Mexico while on the way to Los Mochis.

Having driven through 3/4 of Mexico myself I understand your dread. I took an old highway in the Yucatán and was rewarded with double topes srpead 4 meters apart from each other. Which added 2 hours to my commute at the time....stop and go. The new toll highways are brilliant though. Enjoy the journey!
