The first day in Karelia.
I start a series of posts about Karelia from the first day.
We arrived at the Louhi station, to the village of Piaozersky, where all was started.
We had the transfer, the distance is 110 km, the duration of the trip was 2.5 hours. Finally, I found out what the famous Russian roads are. Sitting behind in the car (brand new renault fluence ) I had the feeling that the rear wheels would now come off.
1 day : Early in the morning we woke up, loaded things into cars, and, as we had in the program went for breakfast.
An important detail was the information that in a large area, which included our village, 3 days a week lights are turned off (in general, completely, completely) due to the fact that the power lines are changing.
We ate breakfast in a beautiful cafe to the sounds of a working generator, there for the first time we tried cloudberry jam. There were pancakes, oatmeal, sliced cheese, in general, we tasted breakfast deliciously.
Further, according to the program we have registration in the visitor center of the Paanajarvi National Park and visiting the museum.
From the cafe, where we had breakfast before the visit, we walked on foot (5 minutes).
In the visiting center, like in the museum, you listen, you become enriched, you learn what you are about to dip into for about 5 days, that the bear does not speak at this place, but they say "Honey foot" The history of the national park itself is very confused.
After the visit, we were disbanded by cars and we drove to the territory of Paanajärvi National Park (60 km to the border with Finland).
I would like to pay special attention to the machines. At the disposal of our group was "Land Rover Defender" (from memory we roughly determined that year-1991) and Bukhanochka (unfortunately, the year of UAZ is unknown, but definitely not older than 7 years).
The entire "transfer" to the park was a complete entertainment, the most "comfortable" places were chosen by me, so we felt every dimple, pebble and hummock very brightly, it was especially nice to jump up on the biggest pits and beat our heads against the roof, side windows. =)
Mark on the cordon of the park. Cordon - a huge wooden barrier, with a house of employees responsible for access to the park, as well as toilets. After settling the issues of the pass, we went further to the destination, and according to the program it was an ascent to the Kivakkatunturi mountain (4 km one way).
In the equipped parking lot, it was decided to have lunch.
Equipped parking in the park - the envy of Belarusian recreation places, a gazebo, a place for a fire, pots, pans, a storage with firewood, a biotoilet. Lunch, almost every day was one (but to this day I miss it) eggplant caviar, black bread, boiled eggs, sausage, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, unimaginable willow-tea, drying, oatmeal cookies, apples.
After lunch, it was decided to postpone the climb on the last day of the tour and go to the hut.
On the territory of the national park there is no connection, there is no connection at all, the mobile phone can be safely switched on in the airplane mode and use only the flashlight (but we took with us the headlights) and the camera.
We were resettled in two huts, they do not have electricity, we were settled in the hut "Fairy Tale".
In the second hut - the campus had electricity at the expense of the generator, where we were going for breakfast and dinner.
The first day was saturated due to a long journey and the beginning of contemplation of the beauty of nature of Karelia. So after the bathhouse and dinner we went to sleep.
That was quite an adventure, it seems. Amazing travel photographs.
