One thing people look for if they visit the Wall Street area in NYC is the well known Charging Bull Statue

image

The Charging Bull Statue sometimes called the Wall Street Bull or Bowling Green Bull by Arturo Di Modica

It was originally a Guerilla art piece ie installed without any permit but was so popular it became a permanent feature

It weighs 7,100 pounds and is 11 Feet Tall, quite an impressive work of art installed in 1989

This year things changed when State Street Global Advisors commissions Kristen Visbal to make a Bronze Sculpture the Fearless Girl facing the Charging Bull

image

The Fearless Girl in comparison with the BUll is relatively small at 50 Inches Tall and weighing 250 Pounds but was another piece installed without a permit and has gained a mixed lot of feelings from people, varying from those of the Charging Bull Artist who wants it gone as he sees it as a cheap advertising stunt riding on the popularity of his sculpture

On the other hand there are many who feel it makes a powerful statement for the strength of woman and the need for more equality in the work place particularly in the financial companies and feel it should stay.

And will finish off with a kit so conventional shot of them

I thought I had read that the girl was temporary, and that was some time ago. Nice photography though!

Yes it was temporary initially for one week now extended till march next year

nice its artist is great man @tattoodjay sir

I love it! Your pictures are wonderful. I really like the concept of the little girl facing off with the bull. In fact she does make a major statement that girls and women have a strong presence in today's world. I appreciate all the history and narrative you wrote. Thank-you for posting this inspiring NYC moment!

thanks kindly, I have to admit writing a little with my posts is a challenge for me i generally on other sites dont say much at all, but its a good thing for me to try and do, I have to write a ot of tehnical type papers at work, but this is different of course but working on it

appreciate your support

Don't worry, as there are so many who don't write anything at all. I know it is hard to always write something. That is why I do my series posts only once every 1-2 weeks. I did love this picture. Words weren't needed. Have a great week ahead!

Thanks that makes me feel a bit better :)

Awesome pictures. I need camera like this, stunning images!

Thanks kindly

Another fantastic post! I especially enjoy the perspective of your the last shot...the bull's eye view of the street, the buildings and the girl...EXCELLENT!!! Thank you for the daily tour of the city. Upvoted & resteemed.

P.S. The shot over the girl's shoulder is so compelling.

I am trying to focus on getting more shots like the last one something a little different

My pleasure! I look forward to your posts everyday. Keep up the excellent work!

I've seen this around on posts, but 4 times in nyc and haven't seen it live...so thanks for the reminder ;)))

MY pleasure the problem in NY is there is so much t see its hard to know what to do

Indeed, and I usually move around with locals or as a local so I don't only see the 'must sees' so yeah, way too much to see! I <3 nyc :)

It is such an amazing city I love walking around getting photos of the city but am glad to get on the train out of there myself at the end of my work day I am a country boy at heart

Aaaah I see.... I'm a city girl so I would stay put haha!
I do love trains though, and the thought of escaping my world ;)

See I grew up Down Under in NZ, I think more people commute into NYC every day than live in NZ so hence I am a country boy at heart LOL

hehe makes perfect sense then yeah 'down under' haha :D

Fantastic photos! I love her so much! UPV and resteemed.

Thanks she is quite a statement I hope she stays there
