I routinely encounter elephants when driving the Thai Outback. At 10,000 pounds, they represent something to watch out for. These are domesticated elephants, born and raised around humans. Wild elephants are another, very different situation. Wild elephants are very dangerous and can stomp a car as flat as a junk yard car crusher. You may note that even though these are domesticated elephants, the trainers are keeping the male elephant well back from the females and the baby. Asian elephants only have tusks in males and have smaller ears than African elephants.
