This is the tallest Buddha in Chiang Mai at a height of almost 60 feet (20 meters). It is possible this same temple complex has built a taller or equal standing Buddha but, thus far, I have been unable to find out which is currently tallest.
Calling The Earth To Witness / Earth Touching Buddha
The most common pose you will find in Thai temples is with the legs crossed, the left hand in the lap, and the right hand pointing to the ground with the palm facing inward toward the Buddha. This represents the moment of enlightment.
There many poses for the Buddha and each holds a separate meaning. Some of the poses are Protection Buddha, Meditation Buddha, Reclining Buddha, Medicine Buddha, Walking Buddha, Teaching Buddha, Contemplation, and Happy Buddha.
