Travel #10 | " The Majesty of the Süleymaniye Mosque In Istanbul "

Suleymaniye Mosque is located in Süleymaniye Mah Fatih, Istanbul, Turkey. The mosque was built during the reign of Sultan Suleyman I known as Suleyman the Magnificent. The construction began around 1550 and was completed in 1557.

When I visited there some time ago, at a glance Suleymaniye Mosque is similar to the Blue Mosque, but different. Suleymaniye Mosque is designed by Sinan architect, with 4 towers as high as 56 meters and 76 meters, and a large dome that looks blue berdiamter 26.6 meters. The inside of the mosque is so beautifully made. The top is decorated with calligraphy. The lights hang from the ceiling and are arranged in a circle. If observed, among the many hanging lamps are also placed ostrich eggs to drive the spider.
