Machu Picchu in Cusco, Peru

Words simply do not do justice to this place. The first couple hours I was in Aguas Calientes (the closest town to the Incan Village Machu Picchu) I was confounded by the staggering cliffs that seemed to reach out of the ground straight for the sky. I use the precarious word "seem" here intentionally; the mountains and city are so fantastic they don't even seem to be real. How were people centuries ago able to construct this city and call it home? There are many mysteries that anthropologists and archaeologists are still unable to answer. Yet, here it is. They do know, however, the three principles of Incan life were: don't lie, don't steal, and don't be lazy. I can get behind that. One of the coolest things I've ever seen.
