hello to all today I will introduce you to the famous black sand beaches of Santorini Island.
it's the beach of Perissa.
Descending southwards from Kamari, you will find three other beaches between Perivolos and Aghios Georgios, 13km from Fira in the south-east of the island, and in the continuity of Kamari beach.
We liked this beach of Santorini, because it is well placed between Kamari and Fira (the road and the bus from Fira passes first through Perissa and then goes to Kamari), and at the same time a little calmer, and pleasant to swim.
The waters are clear, quite deep and very clean. The beach is very long, of fine black sand.
It is accessible by bus, every 30 minutes from Fira in summer. See the bus schedules on this site, it will give you an idea.
And if you are by car, you will easily find a place to park it in the small streets of the village, just a few steps from the beach.
Here you will also find snacks, taverns and pizzerias all along the beach, but also 2-3 mini-markets.
And if you wish to visit the surroundings, the village of Perissa is home to the small chapel of Aghia Irini which dates from the 16th century. You can follow the path that crosses the hill on foot or on the back of a donkey and head towards the ruins of Ancient Thira.
Here I would have made you discover these magnificent beaches of black sand. If it has more you can follow me and upvote to see the rest of the trip.
