MyPictureSunday #19 - Prague, the golden City

in travel •  7 years ago

Hello and greetings from Prague my Steemian friends! It's time for a new episode of MyPictureSunday

Before I start showing you what I did today, let me answer some questions that occur over and over again. Many of you want to know what equipment I use to take my pictures and here is the answer.

My standard gear consists of:

  • DJI Mavic Pro
  • Polar Pro ND filters
  • Epic Bitcoin Necklace
  • Nikon D750
  • AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm 1:3.5-4.5G
  • AF-S NIKKOR 50mm 1:1.8G
  • Epic Steem Pins
  • iPhone 8
  • Rollei Action Pro Gimbal
  • Gorilla tripod
  • Mircrosoft Surface Pro 4
  • GoPro Hero 6

Any questions left? Then just write a comment and let me answer. It's time to have a look what I did today in Prague.

The GoPro Hero 6 is new to my Steemit blogging gear and I will use it now to make some Vlogs for you. Wait, Tim said Vlogs? Yes, absolutely! I have no idea how to make Vlogs but I will simply try it, no matter how awful the first Vlog will be. I will try to improve.

So I arrived in Prague and had the same problem as in Berlin, London and most of the other European cities. During winter time the weather is pretty bad. Cloudy, no sun and freezing temperatures are what I had to struggle with today.

However, it's not a reason for me to quit. It's quite the opposite, I see a challenge to make great shots despite the weather being bad, no matter how hard it seems to be. I will be honest with you, my motivation was very low when I arrived and saw the sky. But later the day, at night, Prague turned out to be a gem.

Let's see what Prague has to offer during daytime. I started my journey on the Charles Bridge (Karlův most)

Now let's see Prague at night

I will stay in Prague for two more days so I can take more photographs and collect some footage for my Vlog. In the next episode of TimTravels I will tell you more about the city of Prague.

Steem on my friends!

Yours,

Tim

Tomorrow the winners of the MyPictureDay will be announced! Stay frosty

Always beautiful as usual. Very nice one @timsaid.
Who doesnt love the beauty of Prague 🇨🇿
I lived there from 2006-2010 and had some of the best years of my life.

The pros are that it is architecturally beautiful, that the public transport system is extremely thorough and cheap, there is no real 'ghetto' and violent crime is not a major issue. It feels like a big city, but it's not crazily big. You can meet really interesting people and even after several years I was still stumbling upon 'secret' places or weird hole-in-the-walls. If you like to drink beer, well, there's a bar on virtually every corner. There are layers and layers of history piled up - not just the famous sites, but normal corners may have traces of the Communist days, the post-WWI Republic, the 19th century, and even further back. Also, you can get to other countries very quickly.

The cons are that there are drunk tourists and expats all over the place, so it can be very noisy until late at night (good when you want to be out yourself but bad if you're trying to sleep). Also a con is that I found Czechs more stand-offish than a lot of other nationalities. I learned Czech, went to Czech bars, etc. but I can't remember anyone local striking up a conversation with me in those places. This doesn't mean Czechs can't be great, just that they're quite reserved with strangers. When you get to know them a bit, they're quite friendly. Compared to some other European capitals like Berlin, it doesn't feel as cutting-edge or hip, though I met lots of really cool people. People in Prague can be pretty gruff, sometimes out-and-out rude, and dealing with bureaucracy is a serious hassle - they love stamping documents, getting double authentic copies, and generally making you jump through hoops. There is dog shit everywhere and the city gets smelly, especially in the summer.

But, it's a great place. The pros very definitely outweigh the cons.

The most important gear is your epic bitcoin necklace 🙌😅

Totally agree!!!

Damn! Seeing your photos and your drone in particular made me want to go travel some place with you again!

Why don't you join us at the @steemSTEM meetup where we're going down into the Large Hadron Collider? See Lemouth's post about it here, then we can also have a weekend in Geneva :D

Take care man.

Thanks bro! I will have a look tomorrow, definitely interested in seeing you again and have a good time. If by any chance, you could join me on my India trip next month

Awesome! The tour is on 9. February. I think there should be 3-4 spots still left, although you will have to ask Lemouth.

I won't have the time to go to India next month, unfortunately. But I'm sure we can do something in spring and/or summer :)

These are great pictures and good compilations, topnotch information prague. I shall love to visit one day. Powerful job!

Sweet Jesus bananas!
I can just take any of the photos and use it as a cool wallpaper. It's so eye-catching!))

Nice gear. But we all know that it's nothing without Epic Steem Pins and Bitcoin necklace...

I'm just seriously inlove with those pics up there. Already using using one as my wallpaper.

Nice work and you got me drooling over your gear! Hahaha. I can hardly see anything whenever I take pictures at night. I'm glad you can produce such stunning but natural-looking photos.

Hehehe... And you probably have some experience. I'm a rookie, the best night pictures I've done is of the moon. 😂

Very nice :D

simply beautiful!

Awesome pictures and gadgets I really want them 😍😍😍

The architecture is so beautiful! This deserves a resteem!

This is a golden city.

I've done some vlogging with the Hero 6 and loved it, mostly because of how discreet you can be with it and how easily it can be mounted on to anything :)
When you visit Prague, or the Czech Republic, two things are musts: you need to eat good food and drink good beer.

Prague is most beautiful location around the world. You gave very inspiration photography collections at night their. Very cool & romantic location I've see. You already ready to take photography with use important camera equipment.

That's one beautiful city with gorgeous architecture! I Love the street lights!

Beautiful Pictures, they remind me of the times I've been there.
Keept up the good work!! :)

Wow! I feel like crying .if i can make just one wish, my wish will be for you to take me to see this beautiful places. The environment is superb and when i visit here, i will love to take beautiful pictures

Wish I'm with you when took these photos! :)

Awesome pictures. I added Prague on my wishlist and I hope to visit it soon !! :)

Wooow ! You've done great things. And now in your eyes I understand that prague is a great city..Thank you @timsaid :)

Is it ok to fly your drone in Prague. I think the law is diferent for drones in other countries. For example in Paris/France is illega to fly drones.

Apparently not, drone use is permitted for private purposes without permission but must follow; max altitude 100m and no more than 20kg.

It is so beautiful there!

Have you been to Prague?

I would love to visit one day

Great post, i Love Praha and the Cz. Nice photo and Equipment

It’s amazing here, right!

Awesome photography, I have the Mavic too, do you use a specific picture profile for your shots?

I always shoot in dlog :) greetings!

Your nighttime photos make me think of postcards. Great photos!

The 3rd to last night photo almost has a haunted feel to it with the moving people. Kind of cool.

es un lugar con muy buena infraestructura en pocas palabras muy bella.

moment and great results ... of course your equipment is very complete ...

good!.

This why I love STEEMIT, finding these kinds of jems, left and right, I would say good is an understatement, wouldn't you?

That is why i love steemit too.

Omg, man!) I can't say that photos are just good. Your perception and camera skills climbed to the professional level where I can't comprehend.

Your gear is very handy. But you also need to know kung-fu so you can beat anyone who tries to steal it!))

Nice

Developed interest in Prague after watching Legends, this are lovely pictures and I hope to see Prague someday, thats country number 33 I wanna see. lol

Nice kit bag!

Out of interest, have you always been a Nikon man? I'm a big fan of a fixed 50mm - allows you to know your distance and your mind can frame up before you've even got the camera to your eye. Helps with keeping in the moment when shooting street portraits

the equipment is perfect my friend

Wow!!!
The pictures are really amazing and so eye catching, water and blood didn't reveal this to you but the one spirit of the living God. Keep the good works going, there will definitely be a light at the end of the tunnel. My upvote is of No worth because am a newbie here but I'm supporting you with my comment and so you can check my introduction post and recent posts and help upvote for me and also follow me in return. Wow thats a very beautiful city and amazing architecture. The photos are amazing! Thank you for sharing :)
Nice equipment for a professional photographer, keep it up!

Seit wann sind die Propeller der Mavic gold/gelb an der Spitze? Gibts schon wieder eine neue? Meine hat noch die grauen... Was gibts für Updates?

Very nice gear you got there!
I bet this would be more excited if you put some video on it, anyways great job what you doing out there.
Cheers mate, have a wonderful frosty day :D

welcome:) We could go for a beer if you are interested...would it even count as a sucessfull visitation if you didnt have a beer with a Praguer?!

Have visited Prague one time and I absolutely love it. They have a lot of old building with beautiful old architecture. Their roads are magnificent like in Germany, Austria or in Switzerland. As soon as we drove into the Czech Republic you feel the technological scrupulousness.

It is great that you have managed to capture a part of it in your photography. I love looking at your work and your serious equipment. Keep them coming, always a pleasure to look at.

very impression your post, I really like, I want to like you what is its secret?

Thank You! ⚜

Your pictures are awesome

Wooow I also love photography check my blog for my photography list

Coole Sache.

Prague is beautiful especially for flying the drone in the golden time! 👌🏽

oh! Awesome photos!
You use epic gears! :)

Great post as always. Really love the photos. Hope to get there one day really soon!

some awesome photographs looking really beautiful :)

i love them.those are the places i always dream of

It's very good job congratulations. I really like photography and I've always wanted to study about that but the photography equipment here is very expensive.
What is the simplest thing that could be used to be a good photographer?

the long exposure... and the lights #whoop #whoop
Time to learn!!!

Sizi takip etmekden cok memnunum paylasimlarinizi 4 gozle bekliyorum

Man, these are some beautiful shots! I'm a bit jealous of the Mavic pro, I opted for the spark and now I am regretting that decision. Cant wait to check out your vlogs!

Good equipment and most importantly is your ability to work them properly, will be there later this year, my friend

Just resteemed as well

I will share all of my experiences I made in Prague with you. Thanks for the kind words

Wooow Excellent pictures @timsaid!

Epic shots too good place to visit

Well done Tim, nice camera!

See you next time in Prague. :)

Sure! Let’s have a drink

I’ve considered getting the GoPro 6 and using it to start vlogging too. However I’m hesitant because I’m not sure how the volume will sound like. I have a GoPro 3 hero + and the volume kinda sucks. How has the 6’s volume working out for you so far?

From all my heart, you have the best equipment. I take a lot photos, and videos, and I love to do this, but I don't have so great equipment.
Now, you inspired me, and for sure, i'll continue.
Even if the weather was worst, you did it. You did great photos.
i appreciate you!
Keep going man, don't let the weather disturb you.
Great post ! :)

Hey ! Thanks for sharing your good work!
I come across a whole bunch of talented photographers.
I know it takes a lot of time and practice to get such shots !

Now I want to go to Prague even more, thanks for sharing !
