My First Time In New York City – Part I: Visiting Madame Tussauds and Times Square

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello my fellow steemians,

I was supposed to write about my trip in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia a long time ago, but I got so busy with my Wacky Facts that I had no time for anything else really.

Originally, I wanted to do just ONE post about my "American Experience,"  where I would include everything, but I realized that there are WAY too many photos and things to write in a single post. So, I decided to break the whole thing in 4 parts!

So, today we will talk about Emirates Airline, Madame Tussauds and Times Square :)))

November 2017

Three months ago, on November 9, I was finally boarding on the plane to visit the United States of America. Another trip; another destination off my travel wish-list; my very first time in the Big Apple!

Even though I have traveled a lot in my life and have also spent time living, studying and working abroad (Italy, England and France), I had never visited the US until then, despite having many American friends.

The whole experience started great, as I quickly found out that Emirates is probably the best Airlines in the world!!!

My OWN personal monitor with hundreds of new films, video games and THOUSANDS of songs AVAILABLE just for me! I felt so loved during my 11-hour flight...

Also, the food and service could easily be compared to this of a good restaurant. The menu was REALLY DELICIOUS!

Landing at Newark Liberty International Airport

Landing at Newark airport was quite of surrealistic. On the one hand, my face was stuck to the glass window admiring the big city lights from above....

And on the other, this song was playing in my headphones! What a warm WELCOME!!!

My good and beautiful friend @novanyc (please check her profile out and show her some love, she's a newbie on steemit) was waiting for me there with her big-ass American car ;)

My 17-day American trip was officially "launching"

Madame Tussauds

My friend @novanyc had it planned all perfectly and pretty much showed me all New York has to offer. My "cultural " adventure started with  Madame Tussauds wax museum, which is located on 42nd Street close to Times Square.

I had so much fun there and I saw so many famous personalities from around the world including former American presidents Ronald Reagan...

and Bill Clinton!

I also got a chance to see current president Donald Trump, but he was kinda moody that day...

I took pictures with over a hundred celebrities and other famous peeps, but I can't post them all. However, I will tell you this: I joined the New York Yankees Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Derek Jeter

...Moments before I was KICKED OUT the museum for sexually harassing Scarlett Johansson!!!

Times Square, Shake Shack, Junior's Cheesecake and Forbidden Planet

In order to make me feel better for all the bullying I went through (You know I am kidding LOL), @novanyc, who knows that I LOVE burgers, desserts and comics, took me to Shake Shack.  OH MY!!!!! THIS WAS THE BEST BURGER I EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!!!

My friend was like, "If you thought that was good, wait until you have strawberry cheesecake at Junior's."

Lost in the euphoria that damn burger had caused in my body and soul, I just followed my friend like a zombie who was looking for more delicious tastes to bomb his palate. Yum-Yum!!!!

After wandering in the city's FAMED Times Square, on a VERY COLD November afternoon/evening...

The time to taste the most famous New York Cheesecake had come. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the greatest variety of cheesecakes one can find on planet EARTH (not sure about Mars)...

And this is the most delicious one from them all: the STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE!

The day wasn't over after this "orgasmic-palate" experience though. Moments before I go into a DIABETIC COMA, my friend yelled at me, "Enough you PIG...YOU ARE GOING TO DIE." Scenes like this one followed after her " hostile behavior," but eventually @novanyc won the fight as she is a ninja warrior!

She made up for me, however, as the last stop of the day was at Forbidden Planet, one of the world's biggest, baddest and awesomest (such word doesn't even exist, but who gives a shite right now!) store selling cult sci-fi books, comics, graphic novels, collectibles, action figures, clothes and toys.

I bought all I could afford there, including Agent K's Deadpool and Terminator stickers...

For that matter, I even saw the REAL Terminator there! Here's the ORIGINAL model from the first film!

I kept biting myself in case I was dreaming, but NO, it was all real right in front of my eyes :)))

As I will be busy with my Wacky Facts from Monday to Friday, Part II will follow next Saturday. Stay tuned to hear all about Philly's Awesome Market, Rocky's Run, Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches and more!!!

What a great post, my dear friend, and many, many thanks for introducing me and plugging my site here!

It’s funny how I was with you during your trip to America, but you have such a lively and colorful way of sharing your experiences, that reading about it here, I was instantly transported back, and I re-lived my time with you again!

I look forward to your return to America. You are like the Terminator - I know you will be back! And as your [un-official] tour guide, I will show you Washington, DC and maybe even Vegas next. 😉

No, I thank you and I will always be thankful for the great hospitality you showed me when I was there. And I tried hard not to cause damages to Rocky statue in Philly...So, if you take me to the Mecca of Boxing (Las Vegas), I may be in Drago mode a.k.a "Whatever I hit, I destroy"....Powned :P LOL

Let’s see if there are any major boxing matches in November (because I know you will come back then 😉) and Vegas, here we come! But first, we have to do our 2nd Annual Rocky Run!

Sounds good to me 😎😎😎

November will be the "American" month for me ;)

I guess you like New York now, more than you did before 😉!!!

Just a little bit ;)

I ♥ NYC
