Costa Rica: the most important trip I’ve ever taken II

in travel •  7 years ago

I took a trip to Costa Rica to work at Pachamama: an eco-village, spiritual center, and magical forest. These are my writings from my time there:

I was lucky. I lived relatively close to Costa rica, therefore my flight was not that long. Once I arrived from Acapulco to San Jose Airport, I headed out to the Guanacaste Region and then to Nosara. My flights kept getting shorter and more scenic! I loved looking out from the plane’s window and looking at the majority of the country in a few hours! As flied away from the urban areas of Costa Rica, I started getting closer to Pachamama.

Pachamama, another name for Mother Earth, is a spiritual center/eco village/exotic hotel that acts both as a business (a very sucessful one) and a home for more than 100 people. Families from Israel, Germany, USA, Australia, and many other countries came together more than a decade ago to build this place. Their dream was to live in a magical forest, far from the shackles of the modern world. Away from pollution, and illusion, most follow the teachings of OSHO, and most see themselves as Sanyasins (students of life who have renounced the material to get more in touch with the spiritual. They are very nice people, they all have an aura of friendliness, calmness, and joy. They have all the comforts a visitor would expect from a hotel: nice beds, clean water, delicious food (will be talking about it on a later post, yum) even electricity and internet. But it’s still a place that values simplicity over anything else, and this is exactly what I was looking for.

And so I arrived with the intention of working here in exchange for acommodations and was given a Casita with a comfortable bed and a killer view. After walking through the dense jungle I arrived to my home for the summer :)
