Hi Steemians,

Today we will continue our journey in Lisbon and I'll be taking you to Belem Tower and Monument of the Discovery. For those who have just come across my blog, Lisbon is where Steemfest is going to be held in November this year so I am hoping my travel blogs on Lisbon for the next few days will help you see more of this lovely city and also provide some tips to those who are planning to go to the conference.

First let me take you to the Monument of the Discovery which is close to Belem Tower. It is to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Prince Henry and its sailors.

先帶你們看看在貝倫塔附近的發现者紀念碑。這個紀念碑是來紀念葡萄牙著名航海家恩里克王子逝世500周年和歷代以來葡萄牙的航海家。發现者紀念碑而是里斯本其中一个著名地標

Not far from the monument is Belem Tower. The cloud was setting in but we still continued with our visit.

在紀念碑附近就是貝倫塔。開始多雲但我們繼續去參觀

Belem Tower or the Tower of St Vincent is a fortified tower is another magnificant sight in Lisbon. It is listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Jeronimos Monastery which I have recently shared - Part 1 & Part 2. Belem Tower was very important to Portugal’s Age of Discovery as it was the starting point of many journeys and discoveries but also it was also the last thing sailors used to see of their home. The tower is built in Manueline style just like Jeronimos Monastery.

貝倫塔是一個堡壘而是里斯本最有名的旅遊地點。貝倫塔跟在附近的熱羅尼莫斯修道院而被列為聯合國教科文組織裡面。你可以在這裡 Part1 & Part 2 看看我介紹熱羅尼莫斯修道院的遊記。貝倫塔是葡萄牙在歐洲探索时代非常重要因為這個地點是船程的起點而且是船員看到家鄉最後的一個地標。貝倫塔跟熱羅尼莫斯修道院一樣都是用曼努埃爾式得風格來建造。

The tower was built to be a defence to protect Lisbon therefore in the tower, you can still some of the old weapons used during the old times.

貝倫塔是要來保衛里斯本所以你可以看到還有以前的兵器.

Look at the details around the exterior of the tower.

外面的設計很仔細

The view here was magnificant. The cloud was setting in but there were still plenty of people visiting.

這裡的風景非常美。雖然開始又雲但還有很多遊客來參觀

The stairs to go higher up the tower. Very narrow!
