8 Months On The Road: Part Three Bucharest, Transylvania and Valencia, Spain

OMG

By the time i'm done with this I will still only be half-way through my 2017 travels.

This will cover April-June and I will skip Athens because I am back and forth to my lovely hometown for work.

At the end of April I headed out to Bucharest a city I had visited several times over the last year and have grown very fond of.

The project I was working on was an initiative to bring a large group of content creators to #ExperienceBucharest. This was the largest social media campaign that the city had ever seen and for me (a blogger/content creator) this was an opportunity to be on the organizational side of a campaign.

WOW. I never imagined the undertaking that this was to become. A crazy, insane experience that I went through with an incredible group of people and quite a few that I have become friends with (some are even on steemit now @worldtravelbug @thelifeofjord and @oliviadejeu)

The thing you should know about Bucharest is that it is the most underrated city I have ever been to. EVER.

It is greener than I ever could have thought, it is a city full of culture, these people like to dance and they do soup like no other!

The architecture in the city was stunning! I will admit I was prepared for a lot of gray, depressing buildings and while there is a bit of that I found myself wandering this city amazed that I had never heard about the architecture. I deliberately am leaving out any photos of that because the architecture will get a post (and photos of it's own.)

Having been there four times over the last year I also feel compelled to say two things.

Bucharest is extremely safe. Like anyplace else you need to be aware of your surroundings but that should be common sense for any traveler in the world we live in.

The other thing is that there are gypsies on everywhere. There are not. I saw exactly one and I included her photo in this blog.

I have no idea who started these falsehoods but it's a city that is very cutting edge and also Romania has the best internet I have ever encountered.

A side note: I spent some time in Transylvania and I was speechless! Pictures don't do it justice.

Here are a few...Sorry. I still have six months to get through!

I was on the road for five months before I got to go home and although I realize how lucky I am it is hard living out of a suitcase. I can't even recall how many times I wake up and have no idea where I am or the times I am in a gorgeous city and don't actually get to see any of it.

I'm pretty sure I am the only person (in the world) that has been to Barcelona four times and never seen one single thing. Not one thing. True story.

My last stop on my way home was Valencia, Spain. This is a city I have been two a couple of times because one of my closest friends lives there and I am in love with Spain (except apparently Barcelona.)

A lovely city that has the perfect mix of modern and traditional buildings. I will be back, soon!

That is all for now! We still have half a year and the second half of the year was filled with the things that led me here.

Looks like you had an awesome trip! Transylvania looks like a great place to visit, maybe I'll get to it in 2018 too :)

Go! It's gorgeous and really inexpensive compared to other European cities.

Oh, I want to for sure. And it's not that far from home after all ;)

One of the things I am grateful for 2017 is that I met you! You know you'll always have a home in Bucharest!
