The Venice Canals

Who says you have to go to Venice, Italy to see the canals?! All you have to do is wander through the streets behind Venice Beach, California and you'll eventually stumble upon the Venice Canals. These man-made canals were developed in 1905 by Abbot Kinney in order to re-create the appearance of the true Venice. At the time they were created they covered 3-4 times the area that they do now, but over time a lot of them were covered to become streets. Those that remain have been restored and the homes here are extremely sought after and expensive. Owning a place here is definitely on my list of future goals now!

    Tremendous images of a well being experience @travellingsomm. Really liked your photography and the story of canals in Venice , italy. This is such an amazing canal and glaf that you guyz had a wonderful experience.

                hehe! Did you check out Muscle Beach while you were at Venice beach? That place is crazy packed with so much going on.

                Pretty cool you found this canal, I'll have to keep my eye out for this next time I'm in LA.
