Amazing Experiences: Visiting the Blue Lagoon, Malta - Part #1

in travel •  7 years ago

Traveling is always made of great experiences, like laying down on a paradisiac beach, enjoy good food, relax with your loved ones, but there are a particular kind of experiences that one can’t simply forget… They are just Amazing!

And we @travelingstories want to share ours with you, so you can enjoy your trips like we do enjoy ours!

And today… We will start a series of 4 posts about our Amazing Experience in one of the most beautiful beaches of Malta: The Blue Lagoon! 😊

The Blue Lagoon is located on Comino Island, one of the three islands that constitute the country of Malta, which is a Member-State of the European Union, in the South of the continent, very close to Africa and surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea.

To visit it, you’ll need to find yourself a boat 😊

There are several options: you can start your trip in Iċ-Ċirkewwa (the port on the North of Malta), in Valletta (the trip will be a bit longer, but there are several companies offering these services – we don’t know any prices, sorry!), or in Gozo (in the same port where the ferry departs in direction of Iċ-Ċirkewwa).

In this post, we are going to talk about our experience and we chose to catch a small boat in Iċ-Ċirkewwa. The trip lasted 30 minutes and the ticket for the round trip is around 15 €!

Oh! And behind that hotel on the right of the image, there’s another Paradise to be seen – literally!

Just a note before we move on. The water in Malta is so beautiful that even by the port (and ports are known worldwide for not having the clearest waters) it’s crystal clear! Look at that beauty!

Well, when we arrived there, our boat was also arriving from having carried the first tourists to the Island of Comino, more specifically to the Blue Lagoon.

We @travelingstories had decided to arrive as early as possible, since we knew that by noon, the place gets crowded. We wanted to experience the place with it as quiet as possible! And believe us, it’s definitely worth it…

We departed from the port of Iċ-Ċirkewwa at around 9 a.m. and begun sailing toward Comino, which is also in route for Gozo Island, the reason we shared part of our journey with the ferry that makes that trip (and that we later used and that we will also post about here @travelingstories).

Few minutes after having left the main Island of Malta behind, we could already see Comino and Gozo islands. They are both near each other and, if visibility is good, you can spot both island easily.

Of course by then, what comes to sight is the big fortress that towers over the sea in the Comino island.

This type of fortresses can be seen in several places on the Maltese Islands, and are very characteristic of a set of islands with a long history of invasions and piracy.

The trip lasted for 30 minutes and the arrival is a joy… Why? An image is worth a thousand words!

Oh! And like in Zakynthos… Have we @travelingstories told you about the water already?! 😊

Hope you enjoyed this post as much as we enjoyed being in Prague, that you upvote it, resteem it and… Come back for more traveling stories and specially for the upcoming post of the Blue Lagoon! 😊
