Every traveler dreams of finding one… A hidden gem, a unique, special place none knows… A piece of Paradise on Earth, untouched by the masses… We @travelingstories want to share with you these special places, so you can wonder at them like we did!
This time, we’ll continue our post of Hvar, in Croatia, and we will talk about… The fantastic Adriatic Sea and the rocky beaches of Hvar! 😊
What a glimpse of Paradise, don’t you think? This is one of our favorite photos from Hvar… It really captures what this place is all about: charming streets, calm environment, sun in the sky and… An amazing sea… So, so inspiring! 😊
Like we previously mentioned, Hvar is an island, but its capital is also called this way. We stood there for two nights and the only thing we do regret is to not have stayed longer…
It was quite an adventure, starting with arriving and not having booked anything in advance (yes, we arranged a room with a lady, after we had arrived by bus from the port where our ferry from Split stopped), and ending with trying to find a comfortable way to lay down on a beach made of rock…
Yes… That’s the beach… Yeah, we know doesn’t seem so appealing, but you’ll quickly adapt! Also, there are some other options, so you can lay down… Oh! And believe us, the water is so good, you’ll pass more time inside of it than on the rocks 😊
As you can see from the previous photo, there are always some swimming-pool-like stairs, so you don’t have to jump into water every time you want to swim. Of course, you can do it – specially if you’re more of an adventurer – but always be careful!
Hvar sits on a small bay on the island, with some smaller island surrounding the village and making this place of incredible beauty: a real Paradise on Earth!
And as it was expected, when you join calm waters, beautiful places, warm weather and a charming village on the Adriatic, you expect to see boats. And, as you can see on the previous photo and on the ones we had shown on our previous post, there are a lot of boats.
Someday maybe we will have our boat as well, but in the meantime, we just like to take photos at them and wonder about it… (And share them with you, of course! 😊)
Oh! And about the rocky beaches… If you feel you won’t feel comfortable on this kind of beaches (very different from the sandy beaches you can find in Portugal)…
There are always alternatives: we found two pebble beaches on our way and you can use them instead 😊
Well, but don’t forget… Rocks is what makes this place unique…
Hope you enjoyed this post, that you upvote, reesteem and… Come back for more traveling stories! 😊
I love it when I find a spot like that lesser known than the major ones. I don't mind a rocky beach. I often find the rocks make nice shapes for seats :)

It's great, isn't it? We cover more of those places under another tag: "Hidden Gems", like this one :)
