12 Apostles-Great Ocean Roadtrip

in travel •  7 years ago

The 12 Apostles are lime rock formations on the southern Australian coast in the Port Campbell National Park.

The 12 Apostles are one of the many geological sites in the Bay of Islands, which is along the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to Adelaide.

There are only 8 of the 12 Apostles remaining with the last collapse into the ocean in 2009. From the visitors centre, there is a walkway and an extensive boardwalk to view the rocks from.

Take a jacket, it can be cold and windy.

Looks beautiful @travelprincess. I didn't realise there were only 8 left. I wonder how long the rest will last! 😊

There’s a chance more formations will appear over the coming decades. As the ocean erodes more of the coastline 😊
