My name is Star and I am new here on this platform.
I have heard about steemit a few times this past year and finally decided to join it.
I am a business professional from Maryland who recently was laid off (for the 2nd time in a row)! I feel there was a reason and maybe I need to create the life I want. So here I am - Reaching for the Stars and smiling while I'm at it. :o)
Recently relocating to Panama and starting a business here has been exciting and scary at the same time. My husband is Panamanian and we have come to visit with his family every year. Nine years ago we purchased a small apartment and have been renting it out up until last year when our renters moved out. So with the job lay-off, my husband's job cutbacks and an empty apartment, we said - hey, why not! Let's go to Panama! So we rented out our house in Maryland and giving this a go!
I like to learn new things every day, experience a new culture and learn Spanish. I love listening to self improvement and business podcasts as well. I dabble in photography, graphic design and a bit of freelance work here and there. Mostly I'm a full-time mom of a 7 year old and a 23 year old (he's living in the states). So my day consists of entertaining my little one before and after school. I really enjoy the precious moments of life and love quality family time.
The content I will be sharing on my blog will be a variety of mom duties, cooking, crafts, travel, business, motivation, positive self-improvement and of course - Reaching for the Stars!
For you, my new readers, please suggest some good blogs within this community, and other ways to build a business from a blog. I'm open to learning from those of you who have already done this!
