Motorcycle travel series by @velimir 'Turopolje 10' (Part #34)

By the left side of the third house in this spacious courtyard, I come across this giant grape press from 1900. It was used in the first part of the winemaking process. The grapes were put in this box and the counterweight was used to press the juice out of it.

Here is the year of manufacture imprint. They didn't use serial numbers back then :D

Here the grape juice would come out, ready to be left to ferment in the second phase. Today it is done by industry grade hydraulics. Well, today the whole process is pure chemistry, nothing left of the magic of the old days. The wine you drink today is made by machines in most cases, not by people. People only observe the process and add poisonous chemistry to your wine.

Wish I could taste whatever was made in this 'machine'. Even pure fresh squezzed grape juice would suffice.
