'Vjekoslava's Rings'
Vjekoslava has been creating unique jewellery for years now. Her artistic eye and open approach, together with her talent have helped her to develop her own style. Her creations are more and more accepted with each day. I find her working in a little wooden booth.
As you can see, the rings are made of semi-precious stones that are bind with silver wire. I am sure it is not simple to do this by hand, even though it doesn't seem that difficult at a first glance.
She is also making bracelets, brooches and necklaces that go well with each other. Combining more than one stone in a product like this is an art by itself. One must get the sizes, tones and shapes right for the piece to be appealing.
There are many variations. The creative direction and positive spirit are present in all of them. She mentioned that the stones are the most expensive part. In my book, the artist's work should be the most important part of a creation but we do not live in such world, do we?
As her skills improved over the years and her customer base constantly grew, she decided to go full time and dropped her daily career. This is always a brave decision and one never knows how it ends. Courage and good will is what it takes. Vjekoslava, without any doubt, has both.
