Motorcycle travel series by @velimir 'Zagorje 26' (Part #81)

Behind the back entrance to the den, the one I explored in my previous post, there is a path leading further up the hill. A wonderful summer scent lingers all over the woods. I've been riding all day, so a little walk up there will be beneficial. And who knows what I might find...

I arrive at an opening and find stone ruins. Very likely it used to be an auxiliary building to the mansion, I already told you about. Even though, on the second thought, it is located too far from it. A chapel, perhaps?

I venture further into the woods. The path becomes steeper. I am sure it leads to the top of the hill. I take a few deep breaths and continue. It's very peaceful here. I love to walk in nature, especially woods, and become one with it, even if it's only for a few minutes per day. I believe it's more than just the relaxation of the mind and that the whole body refreshes itself with the energy of nature.

A stone wall to my right. I am right, there is something up here!

Looks like the wall in front of me, or what is left of it, is a fortification wall. I really wonder. It is quite a steep terrain but I cannot completely exclude a possibility that it was a part of a building centuries ago.

A row of stairs leading up. Mmm... an ancient sacrificial site?

What is this? A modern concrete post base?

Oh, it seems Velimir walked himself to the flag post. It's the only thing left standing here.

Well, even though my discovery wasn't expected, it was a beautiful walk which I enjoyed very much. As the saying goes - the journey is not about the place where you arrive to but about the journey itself.

I can so agree with this.
