My public online persona has always been focused on yoga and wellness. However, there is a whole other side to my life that I have not yet shown to the public eye. This side is my travel adventures.
I have been travelling the world for the last four years now and have had many diverse experiences in many different countries.
Recently I have had a lot of reflection (perhaps because of the Mercury Retrograde), and nostalgia. While looking back at old photos it brought back so many happy and interesting memories.
I am finally ready to share these private travel snaps with you, exclusively on the Steemit platform.
I will post my photos and reflections from a different place that I travelled to.
Not many people hear about my travel stories, only my close friends and family, or perhaps the occasional stranger I meet out and about who shares theirs too.
It's not that I was hiding my travel life, it is perhaps just because I am so passionate about yoga and wellness that this took over my online voice.
What I love about Steemit, and being relatively new on the platform, is the ability to simply be ME!
Whether that is talking all things yoga and wellness, talking about my travel memories, or just discussing literally ANYTHING with you guys!
So here goes, in no particular order, just however I feel on the day...
Hong Kong - Part 1
I lived and worked in Hong Kong for 20 months! Longer than I ever expected but I had some amazing experiences.
Today, I decided to share a very 'Hong Kongers' 'city life' weekend we had for my birthday.
So here goes...
It all starts at the tailors!
Many of my friends had their suits made at the Tailors in Tsim Sha Tsui (the old part of Hong Kong). There is an area where you will not only find loads of tailors, but also promoters trying to draw people in off the streets! Luckily for them we actually showed interest and many of my friends all had a 3 piece suit made, a couple had a few extra shirts made on top!
Considering most of the shopping malls on Hong Kong Island literally have too many Gucci's, Prada's, Louis Vuitton's, and other ridiculously over-priced brands, going to a tailor seemed like great value! It did take rather a long time to get everyone measured and all their material textures and designs sorted, so excuse the beers in the guys hands! -boys will be boys!!! I had a dress made at a different tailors that catered towards ladies fashion! Again, it was winter season, and I had a wedding to attend in Palm Cove, Northern Australia, and so I gave up shopping and went to a tailors!!Brunching!
Brunching is huge in Hong Kong. It involves a huge buffet at a nice restaurant with free flow soft drinks. You can pay extra for free-flow wine/beer/cocktails and even more for free-flow champagne. They normally start at 10-11am on a Saturday and Sunday and finish around 3-4 pm.
My favourite brunch was at Hutong looking over Victoria Harbour. It had a lovely interior and the food was excellent!! House music afterparty - Rewind
I have a varied taste in music. I appreciate talent and well-thought out rhythms. My favourite music is jazz, piano music on the softer side, and then house music on the harder side.
I always connect well with people who share the same taste in music as me. In Hong Kong, there wasn't too much house music, but then an event called 'rewind' started and it was all we could ask for! They chose unique venues for one-off day to night music events. My favourite duo was a DJ and violinist playing together while we danced at the rooftop bar overlooking the amazing concrete jungle of Hong Kong. Previous Posts:

Wishing you a beautiful day full of happiness and good vibes,
Namaste!
