In circa 1606 Spanish navigator Pedro Fernandes de Queirós discovered this group of islands in Pacific Ocean and named them "Australia de Espiritus Santu". Later James Cook renamed them as New Hebrides.
Untill 1980 this 83 pieces of land was a dual ownership of UK and France. Now it is called Republic of Vanuatu.
Total population about 200.000.
People here are very friendly and carefree
Nature is beautiful, food is great. Moreover there are lots of diving points there
Vanuatu string bands is another noteworthy thing here. Songs a quite simple but very authentic
Coconut plantations occupy a significant part of some islands. Watch your head!
Tuna fishing is another entertainment here
Coconut crab can easily crush the coconut shell so watch your step too :)
One more string band
Locals like to drink Cava at Cava bars - the drink made from roots of Piper methysticum. The taste is awful but the effects are pretty interesting and relaxing and gives a long sleep and colourful dreams with no hangover. Costs about 0,6-0,7 Australian dollars per cup (half of coconut shell)
Very relaxing :)
They don't eat white people anymore
And beautiful sunsets of course
