This place meant something really special. Apparently it was part of a new tv show and some friends in San Diego asked us to go. People in the building really cared a whole lot.
Clearly we were not the only ones who chose to visit that day. I think it was new year's day and we probably showed up around 10. So, you know, a bit of homework can go a distance. Or just get in line like everyone else. These days photographers seem to get no special treatment.
I've seen the show a couple times since we were there (Jan 2015) and would love to have known a bit about the people. Another reason to do some homework in advance.
The lighting in there was really tough for photography, I probably should have pushed my iso higher. Apologies for actually posting photos that are out of focus.
There was a chance for some great photojournalism but I couldn't get dad to show his head past the kid and then the moment was over. So out of focus and terrible composition both kinda, in one post. Fans of the show probably will be okay with it. Everyone else can use the scroll wheel.
It was just so close to being great.
Me in action:
Doing this:
Dog's name was Doc Holliday. My wife grew up in Cochise county by Tombstone AZ. We nearly left with this little guy.
This is probably my favorite shot of the whole day. Naturally, its one of Cheryl's, as most of the good ones seem to be.
If the place is about recovery, then this dog apparently has pulled it off.
Not all dogs are there.
And not all photos are A's. But some tell a story despite technical shortcomings. This is maybe an expose on volume posting. I think people who follow the show will appreciate.
This is just so Louisiana:
