Stay | Travaasa Hana Resort, Maui

Hello Steemit,
My name's Chelsea and I'm new here thanks to my dad @markvance! I'll introduce myself soon but for now I'm just going to jump right in. Today I'm sharing about my favorite place to stay when in Maui. Have you ever been?

If you're heading to Maui anytime soon I hope you have Hana on your trip itinerary. Maybe you're planning a spiritual vacation, a romantic getaway, or have the Road to Hana on your mind? If you said yes to any or all of the above, this post is for you! Travaasa Hana Resort is the definition of paradise. It was voted the #1 best hotel/resort for a romantic getaway, however families take note, there is space set aside just for you. We stayed here with our two year old son and four month old daughter and never once missed out on the peace and quiet Travaasa is best known for. Hard to believe that, right?

From the moment you wake up you can hear every bit of the breeze winding through the palm trees and the birds singing to the guests which starts your day off right, just the way it should. There is not a single time throughout the day that isn't like this and that is not an exaggeration. Though you can request them, you won't find any TV's, radios or clocks in your room which gives you the push you need to really give your mind a rest. The resort offers plenty of experiences to occupy your time and there is something for everybody, even young kids! Wether your the adventure type, want to jump start your culinary hobby, learn more about the Hawaiian culture, catch up on some fitness, or simply relax at the spa, Travaasa has something for you. I am dying to go back baby free so my husband and I can take full advantage of each and every one of these activities. Yes, they do offer all-inclusive rates!

Know before you go:

// You will not find air conditioning at Travaasa Hana. All rooms are equipped with interior ceiling fans and that is all you'll need, trust me! Slide open the door and swing open your windows for some fresh Heavenly Hana air.

// The resort is on a waterfront cliff edge therefore the ocean is inaccessible. Hamoa Beach is about 2 miles away and the resort conveniently provides a shuttle to and from.

// Expect rain. The rain will not stop you from doing what you went to Hana do. In fact, it will probably make it that much better.

// Be sure to pack your necessary items. There is no shopping in town aside from Hasegawa General Store and they do not carry things like swim diapers (we learned that the hard way).

We didn't spend nearly enough time walking around the quaint little town but we saw enough to know we want to go back asap. Most of the time we ordered room service (excellent btw) but one night we decided to go for a walk because a few friends told us about a "to die for" Thai restaurant down the street. Unfortunately it was closed by the time we got there however we did stumble upon a local family that set up their tent right outside a park. The line was so long within the first few minutes AND it was raining. I'm sure you can guess how good the food was. Planning our next trip in 3-2-1!
