My Journey to Gayo Highland

Yesterday I was traveling to a famous tourist destination in Aceh Province, the Gayo Highland, Takengon City. This tourist destination can be a list for you who want a vacation to the Province of Aceh. Gayo Highland is located in the Takengon City, precisely in the district of Aceh. This Gayo Highland is a Hillside ridge that stretches along the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.

I started traveling at 9 am by riding a motorcycle. I passed the route into the road PT . KKA is just open to the public and can be passed comfortably, although the lighting is still inadequate, I suggest don't go and go home at night when through this road route. When traveling the temperature around the road ranges from 15-19 degrees Celsius and makes me always want to pee. The journey that I took to get to the Takengon City only 3 hours with an average speed of 80 km/h and use the help of GPS for my guide. Along the way many found some junctions that make confused, then we have to ask the community around and follow the direction of GPS. If the wrong way, will lead to another city.

I really enjoy the scenery of the hills and the cool atmosphere there. In the middle of Takengon City there is a large lake, the Lake Lot Tawar. When I got to Takengon City, I took a short break at a coffee shop, coffee here has reached the world, really delicious taste of coffee with a distinctive scent. After unwinding I continued my journey to several corners of the city to capture this beautiful moment, I headed straight to a place called Pantan Terong.

Pantan Terong is a place where we can see the City of Takengon and Lake Lot Tawar from above. Go to Pantan Terong this we have to climb the hill, can climb using a motorcycle and car, but must remain cautious because the road is very extreme. Pantan Terong has a height of 1830 meters above sea level. At first a little hesitant go to Pantan Terong because the road is climbing very extreme, but because the road is smooth and motorcycle driving skills needed here so I can get safely. I know this Pantan Terong from some friends who have been there and some posts in social media. So it makes me curious to go there and feel it myself.

After being from Pantan Terong, I will then explore the outskirts of Lake Lot Tawar road to surround it, because there are many atmosphere that I want to see. To encircle Lake Lot Tawar takes me about 2 hours. Many culinary places and resting places around the perimeter of this lake.

After completing the surroundings of Lake Lot Tawar my next destination is to go back home, because when traveling the weather around the lake has started cloudy, fear of the danger of landslides that occur, because the area is prone to landslides when it rains.
