TRAVEL MALAYSIA #1 - AMPANG HILL AND GABAI WATERFALL

Our friend from Hong Kong paid us a visit in Malaysia recently. As a Kuala Lumpur native, I'm tired of the clubbing scene and skyscrapers while my friend on the other hand wanted to experience a more authentic way of life. Therefore, I brought her to Gabai waterfall in Hulu Langat which was about an hour's drive away from the bustling city center. Picnicking nearby a waterfall used to be one of my family's many favorite activities when I was a child.

On the way to the waterfall, we stopped over briefly at the Ampang Hill along the Ampang-Hulu Langat Road to observe and to capture the cityscape photograph of Kuala Lumpur. It was her first time seeing Kuala Lumpur from this angle. Ampang Hill is also a popular place for observing night scenery of the city.

We climbed 333 steps to get to the Gabai waterfall. It was a great workout.

After settling down in our perfect spot for picnic, a cat came over to beg for food. The cat was too cute to resist hence we couldn't help but to feed it with some food we brought to the waterfall.

Later, we drove to Broga for grill fish lunch. It was a carefree outing. My friend enjoyed herself very much. She gave me a bear hug before leaving Kuala Lumpur. Due to limited time and mudslides caused by rainy season, I would have loved to show her another more beautiful waterfall spot in the Selangor region.
