The Monkeys of Bali – Cute Little Thieves (발리의 귀여운 도둑들)

These monkeys are everywhere. I mean EVERYWHERE. They are free to roam around the temple, the streets, even the hotels near the temple.

음…몽키가 사방에 있다네요. 안좋은 점 같은데?? ㅋㅋ 원숭이 아시잖아요 손버릇 나쁜 거.원숭이 사원갈때 귀중품은 나두고 온다던가 하면 문제 없겠죠?

The inside of the temple is beautiful. The remains are blocked off, so you can’t exactly get up close and personal, but if you’ve got a great camera you can still take some beautiful shots.

다음으로 사원이 정말 아름답다고 합니다. 사진 같이 감상하시죠
아쉽게도 사원 주변에 장벽이 쳐져 있어서 안으로는 못들어가네요 ㅠㅠ
밖에서 사진 찍는 것은 가능하니까요, 좋은 카메라 가지신분들은 사원배경으로 멋지게 찰칵 하시면 되겠습니다.

But people mostly come here to see the hundreds of monkeys freely roaming around. They are adorable. I spent a whole afternoon just walking around and watching monkeys do silly things. Most of the monkeys are friendly. They will come right up to you and investigate what you are.

다시 마눌님이 몽키찬양하네요 ㅋㅋ 몽키들이 사원에서 돌아다니면서 귀여운 짓을 많이 하나 봅니다. 갑자기 올라타서 “넌 누구지?”하고 탐색을 하기도 한다네요. 전 몽키랑 눈싸움 한번 해보고 싶네요.

Make sure to have a tight grip on your belongings. They WILL try and take anything in your hands and bags. And once they’ve got a grip on it, there’s no getting it back.

I made that mistake. The monkeys work in cute little gangs. One of them will try to distract you while another grabs your things and runs away. The big ones are the muscle of the gangs. They WILL bite if you try to chase the thief. I was bitten. No, I didn’t get sick or die (clearly). But I learned my lesson about wild life. They bite.
