Phillip Island
ist eine Insel 80 km Luftlinie von Melbourne im australischen Bundesstaat Victoria. Die berühmten Hemsworth-Brüder wuchsen dort auf, jetzt leben allerdings nur noch ihre Eltern dort. Aber Phillip Island hat so viel mehr zu bieten: die wunderschöne Natur, kilometerlange Küsten und eine vielfältige Tierwelt, die man hautnah erleben kann.
Phillip Island
is an island 80 km bee line of Melbourne, located in the australian Victoria. The famous Hemsworth-brothers grew up there but now only their parents still live there. But Phillip Island has a lot more to offer: the stunning nature, a kilometer long coast and a multifarious wildlife which you can see up close.
Wildlife Park
Unsere erste Station war der Wildlife Park. Dort kann man für 19 AUD über 100 verschiedene australische Tierarten kennen lernen. Viele davon laufen frei herum und man kann sie sogar füttern. Die Emus sind mir allerdings bis heute nicht ganz geheuer... Wenn sie wittern du hast Futter und du denkst dir wird jeden Moment das Auge raus gepickt :O
Die Wallabys zu füttern und mit den Kängaruhs abzuhängen, zählt aber auf jeden Fall zu meinen Lieblingsmomenten in Australien!
Wildlife Park
Our first stop was at the Wildlife Park. There you can see over 100 different australian animals for just 19 AUD. Many of them are running free and you can feed them. The emus haven´t been my friends yet... If they smell you got food then you just think they pick you everywhere. But to feed the Wallabys and to hang out with the Kangaroo was one of my favourites in Australia!
Nobbies Centre
ist ein wunderschöner Pfad entlang der Küste auf dem man Robben und Pinguine beobachten kann. Anfang November als wir dort waren, war es allerdings so windig und kalt, dass wir die Aussicht auf die atemberaubende Küste nur kurz bewundern konnten. Robben und Pinguine haben wir leider auch keine gesehen...gelohnt hat es sich aber auf jeden Fall!
Nobbies Centre
is a beautiful path along the coast where you can spot some seals and penguins. The beginning of November was so windy and cold that we couldn´t enjoy the stunning view for a while. Also we couldn´t see some seals and penguins but it was worth it anyway.
Pinguinparade + Geheimtipp!
Für knapp 26 AUD kann man auf einer Tribüne beobachten wie die kleinen Pinguine nachts zum schlafen an Land kommen. Allerdings muss man schon eine Stunde bevor die Sonne untergeht auf der harten Tribüne Platz nehmen, was ziemlich unbequem und kalt ist, Sobald die süßen Lebewesen dann an Land kommen, gibt es unter den Leuten kein halten mehr und man sieht fast nichts mehr, was etwas nervig ist. Auch sehen die Pinguine etwas verängstigt aus, da trotz Verbot viele Leute mit Blitzlicht fotografieren. Wir würden den Ausflug nicht nochmal machen.
Als Geheimtipp: in St. Kilda in Melbourne am Pier sieht man die kleinen Pinguine nach Sonnenuntergang auch an Land kommen. Dort ist nicht so viel los, es wird besser aufgepasst und es ist umsonst.
Penguin Parade and secret tip!
For 26 AUD you can watch on a platform when the little penguin come to land to sleep. Mind you have to be there one hour before the sun goes down and thats really uncomfortable and cold. As soon as the penguins come ashore all the people stand up and you can´t see anything. Also i got the feeling that some of the penguins were really frightened because of the flashlight which some people used to taking photos even if it´s forbidden. We wouldn´t go there again.
Secret tip: in St. Kilda in Melbourne on the pier next to the Luna Park, you can also see the little penguins after sunset they come ashore. There aren´t so many people and it´s for free.
