Travel Pro Eats #26: Aventura Pizza in Cusco Peru! (5 minute video)

in travel •  7 years ago

Hey there my Steemit friends! I found myself walking past Aventura Pizza on more than one occasion during the week I spent in Cusco Peru. I couldn't help but notice they were always busy, they had a big wood fired oven, and it was only two dollars and fifty cents for a personal pizza, garlic bread, and drink!

Never having pizza in Peru I had to give it a try. Knowing I have a big appetite I went for the medium pizza, garlic bread, and drink for five dollars. Did my years of travel experience picking restaurants based on simple observation serve me right? Let's find out and see how it was at Aventura Pizza in Cusco Peru!

With over 11 years of travel experience I answer travel and international lifestyle questions. Leave a question in the comments and I may make a Steemit post just for you!

The pizza place looks so cozy! I'm not a pizza eater so can't judge! Happy Travels my friend!

Thank you, it was a pretty cozy place indeed!

A wood fire oven is always a tell-tale sign of great pizza! It helps the crust get that flash char and smokiness that it needs. I'm always seeking out new places in NYC with ovens like this!

The good thing though is that in NYC they know what to do with the oven! I'm not really sure what the Peruvians are thinking.

I think the nice firewood oven is the main highlight of that store! It's funny you told that guy you were taking the video to promote their store then after having your pizza you changed your mind hehe.. Anyways you have my support for being honest. The pizza looks good but not as what I've expected. What you have doesn't really look medium size but more just like a thin solo pizza =)

Ha ha. So glad I still have your support. I have to go back and watch this video now. I still haven't viewed it since I organized the post weeks ago.

The ultimate comfort food: Pizza! 🍕

That's a pretty good deal for $5, but it wasn't to your liking. New York style pizza are designed to fill you up! Haven't been, but heard of those $1 slices 🍕 You live and learn. Alpaca steaks yes, Peruvian pizzas no.

Exactly Alpaca Steak on the pizza, then we might have a winner! Thanks for you great comments as always!

We would keep the steak separate. The only meats that work on a pizza are cold cuts like Prosciutto, ham and/or pepperoni. Sam had an "interesting" experience with lamb meat (in Greece) and on another occasion guinea pig meat (actually in Cusco) on a pizza. Just wasn't meant to be at all! Just personal preferences 😊

Now you've got me thinking Alpaca Cold Cuts! lol Probably not the best idea. :)

Five dollars is brilliant value for that although I'm not sure I'd want garlic bread and pizza at the same time.

I was surprised you found it bland @world-travel-pro. I wasn't expecting you to be disappointed which made the video even more interesting! 😂

Haha. Oh I've got some great travel eats post that are ready to be posted, several of them I really trash the place with a horrible review! I made one just the other day, and it happened to be Pizza again! It was like this 95% bread, 2% sauce, 3% cheese. Was kind of like a joke. Glad you enjoyed the video Gill!

Well Pizza's never been a big favourite of mine @world-travel-pro. It has to be REALLY good to get a thumbs up from me! 😊

really delicious a good pizza tastes good everywhere
