Our trip to a little farm in Masbate province, Philippines

in travel •  7 years ago

Right now, I am in Masbate, a province in the Philippines exploring how the locals living, while living with the locals!

Today, we went to @Bellatravelph's aunt and cousins. We met stella and she took Bella and me to the farm of an other relative after we left our stuff in Stella's house since we stayed there overnight. Bella's house is far away from the village stella and her aunt lives and there is no transport back in the evening hours, so we had to stay there if we would visit her aunt on the farm. Since it is impossible to reach it by jeepney or car because there is no road, we walked to the small house on the farm. The house was in the middle of a tropical paradise, green everywhere and plenty of fruit trees around! The family grows their own vegetables too! We talked a little bit with her aunt, especially bella since her aunt couldn't really speak english that well. Always difficult that I can not speak in their language..
We walked a little bit around on the farm.

The brother of bella climbed in the coconut tree with a big knife to harvest some juicy coconuts! 🌴

Bellas brother opens the coconut for us with his big knife, so we could drink the coconut

There is nothing better than a juicy coconut when it is so hot outside!

Drinking the coconut without straw is totally okay on the farm!

After drinking all the juice, Bella opened the coconut for me so I could eat the meat! So delicious!

After that, Bella's aunt gave us some bananas, really tiny bananas! But the taste is great, how smaller how better mostly.

The banana's growing on the tree with the banana flower. The banana flower, also known as banana heart is delicious boiled with coconut milk! One of my favorites!

Bella threw me one more, she was teasing me that I am just like a monkey, catching the bananas like a monkey!

The view we had on the way back is amazing! Green paradise in the Philippines

When we went home, it started raining.. Luckily we had ☂. The road was very muddy since it was not cemented, but luckily we did not have to walk too far, just around 15 minutes maybe. Soon, we came back in the house were we would sleep tonight. We washed our foots by the well.

How they still do it in some village area's here, getting the water with a bucket out of the well.

We went Inside for dinner, fish soup and chicken with of course rice. A delicious meal Bella's auntie prepared for us. There was also some Christmas cake left so we were lucky! It was a long day, kapoi pariho baboy, Bella teaches me something everyday haha.. Hope I wrote it right.. Goodnight! 💤
