No Plans

This #steemit-roadtrip had no real route or plans other than the fact that we were headed to NYC. @instructor2121 suggested that if we get the opportunity, we should go to Gatlinburg. I had no idea, but when we started to approach the Smoky Mountain National Park, I saw signs for Gatlinburg. This is no joke, I seriously had no clue that Gatlinburg is practically in the park. We cozyed up to our log cabin and settled down.

Day 1

We spent a great deal of the first day exploring the town of Gatlinburg. @xtdnrymompreneur and I described it as a themepark with free entry. It's a redneck's dream vacation destination, but it's surrounding beauty is something that words have no place to describe. I would not describe the native inhabitants as sophisticated, but they certainly did get excited about steemit. They were quite intrigued by the idea that we were traveling, blogging, and getting paid for it. Just watch, we are waiting on about 10 residents of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Tennessee to get verified by STEEMIT INC. I ran my kids ragged that day. We were busy from sun up to about 1 am in the morning. I took about 120 360 degree and vr photos but unfortunately, steemit does not support that plug in yet... (perhaps I should design one)

Day 2

This is the part that was the most awe-inspiring. I have been up to 8,000 ft on snow capped mountains, but this place was captivating. There are hills, mountains, and valleys being carved out by flowing rivers and streams. The thick fog which inspires the term SMOKY is everywhere. It gives the Smoky Mountains a certain mystique. It sets a mood in nature that has the ability to affect you both emotionally and physically. I could have dug my toes into the dirt and planted roots. I stopped multiple times to relive my journey through the park by staring at pictures. I drive through this beautiful land and wonder to myself, "How in the hell could people go to war in the 1800's while surrounded by such natural beauty?" If you have never been, I guarantee that these pictures will inspire you to do so very soon.
