Mysterious places where the fountains of Petrodvorets take water

in travel •  5 years ago  (edited)

I planned a trip to my relatives in Peterhof in winter. It was so hard to wait for a vacation, and when the spring sun melted the snow and the first grass came out, I began to prepare for the upcoming trip to the suburbs of St. Petersburg. My daughter had a vacation and she asked for it with me, I took her with joy, because the two of us are more fun to go camping.

In St. Petersburg in may is usually cool, but we were lucky with the weather. There were warm Sunny days and in one of them I offered to take a walk along the canals, along which from the rivers and nearby streams the gathering water flows straight towards the Peterhof Palace.

At the time when the Palace was built and the surrounding parks, specially made so that the level of the lower Park deepened, creating it at the shore of the Gulf of Finland. The Grand Palace itself is located above. Flowing down from the slopes of the water come from natural channels under pressure into the lower Park , creating the pressure of the jets of the fountains.

My daughter is 11 years old and she is interested in everything in this world. She didn't know what those channels were for and started asking me about them. And then I told her about the cunning system of the fountains of Petrodvorets, he wanted to make a trip to the distant distance with his own eyes.

By the way, the places around Peterhof are very picturesque. In early may, the trees are just beginning to produce the first leaves, the surface of the water in the square reservoirs almost perfect - the best time for a real photographer!

Our journey lasted long enough. We passed the top of the channel about 4 kilometers, crossed the railway tracks and moved on. The main channels are completely straight and laid with smooth stones. Along the ponds laid neat paths around not so many houses, but people come here in pairs or with children for walks in the fresh air. While we were walking, we met only 2-3 people.

But our path led us to the dam, which was getcialis large streams. Here, on the banks of the stat ruins of an old watermill, which still look quite picturesque. I remember walking here with my cousin almost 30 years ago and the mill hasn't changed a bit since then. I think it especially no one recovers to podcherknut the old spirit of this place.

From here in the distance goes a few streams. If you go along them, you can go in the direction of the meadow, and then the highway, which leads to the side of the dam to Kronstadt. But we turn to the side and go to a very beautiful pond, on the banks of which grow willows. So, having seen that party we leave directly to the house where there live our relatives.

In our next trip there we will try to make an even further hike along the streams. And this time we are waiting for a lot of other interesting places that my daughter and I will have to visit during this trip. Now my child knows how the system of fountains in the parks of Petrodvorets works.
