I have already wrote one small post about my trip to Greece to the island of Crete, in which I told about the village of Matala. Today I will continue my story and tell you about the beautiful city of Rethymno, in which our hotel was located.
I suggest listening to this wonderful music while you are reading my post.
The choice fell on this city not by chance, because it is convenient to get there by car to many beautiful places, for example, Frangokastello, Chania, Balos Bay, where the three seas merge. But first things first.
Rethymno is a tourist city. Cafes, souvenir shops, hotels - all this here in bulk. Like all normal tourists, we arrived at the resort, went to the beach, where we have found red flags forbidding swimming.
The sun beds were empty, despite the high season ...
There are no special attractions there, but we could not pass by the old fortress. The fortress is called - Fortezza, was built by the Venetians in the 16th century. In fact, this fortress was never a defensive structure, because it could easily be taken by storm with stairs because of the absence of ditches.
In fact, there is nothing interesting in the fortress, except for the smartest species on Rethymnon:
And, of course, a couple of pictures of the evening Rethymnon:
And I highly recommend visiting the Galera restaurant. They cook there amazingly delicious, but if you are going to go there in the evening, be sure to take something warm, the wind blows heavily from the sea. Also in high season, you need to book seats in advance, preferably in a couple of days.
Thank you for reading and don't forget to subscrib me and i will follow back!
