This is an interesting place on the Thai/Laos border at Nong Khai, It's a large Buddhist/Hindu themed statue park and Temple created by a Laotian Buddhist monk in the 60's & 70's using concrete and local, unskilled labour.
He started off farther up the banks of the Mekong river on the Laos side but fled to Thailand after being persecuted by the Lao communist government.
He remained here constantly adding to it until his death and is entombed in the Temple on the site...
