My Journey with the Visa Process as a Permanent Resident in Mexico

I share the story of my visa application process. Below are instructions on scheduling your initial appointment at the Mexican Consulate in or near your home country before you go to Mexico. I have added contact information for Mexican consulates in the US and Canada with some tips. I used the Atlanta, GA, USA consulate. The next step is an appointment at INM in Mexico, and you have 6 months to initiate this. Once you arrive in Mexico, the appointment at INM must be scheduled within 30 days.

Contact consulate through their FaceBook and web site page.
Contact consulate by phone or email and that information is usually on their FB page and web site.
Walk into a consulate and ask for an appointment. At times I know it works.
Please make appointments up to 6 months prior to coming to Mexico. Each has a web site and FB with contact information and the ability to message on FB.
