Hello once again Steemians! Another blog for today :) The up votes at my previous post “Introductory Blog: Meet Honeybngd” triggered my inner writer to get up and make another one! Yep! And I would like to thank the people who at least took the time to drop by and left comments. It means a lot to me knowing that this community don’t hesitate to welcome newbies and encourage them to keep on aiming high! So my blog for today will be about our Countryside Tour at the beautiful Bohol just recently with my boyfriend and friends. It was a 1-day trip to Bohol since we’ve decided to go to another town (which is Cebu) the following day but even for just a short period of time we’ve actually seen most of the beautiful tourist attractions in Bohol and really enjoyed the moments we’ve spent there!

Bohol is one of the largest island in the Philippines and is located in the Central Visayas region and from our hometown, Cagayan de Oro City, we took a ferry going to *Tagbilaran, Bohol *at around 7 in the evening and we arrived about 6:00 in the morning. Usually it’s a 10-hour travel from CDO. And upon arriving, the van we rented picked us up at the port and to fuel us up for the long and exciting day ahead we directly had our breakfast at McDonald’s since there were no other fast food and even calenderias open that early that time near the port.

CHOCOLATE HILLS

So my friend already arranged the itinerary for our tour few weeks prior to the trip. And our first stop was the very famous Chocolate Hills at Carmen, Bohol- it is considered as one of the natural wonders of the Philippines and probably the most visited attraction here in Bohol. It has approximately* 1,260 to 1,776* hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers as per Wikipedia. These green covered cone shaped hills turns to brown during the dry season, thus called the Chocolate Hills.

BILAR MAN-MADE FOREST

Next stop is the Bilar Man-made Forest which is actually located on the way going to Chocolate Hills. So these mad-made forest features Mahogany Trees along the highway and is one of the favorite stop for tourist to strike a photo! But just don’t forget that it is a main road and cars pass by too fast so you might want to take a really quick photo on it too! Fun but intense photo taking experience! (Just look at our photo below! Haha pose-click-and run!!!)

BOHOL SHIPHAUS

Another tourist attraction is Bohol ShipHaus in Poblacion Norte, Batuan, Bohol just a few minutes drive from Bilar Man-Made Forest. It is a house built and designed as a ship with a nautical-themed interior, furniture and items inside owned by Capt. Gaudencio Dumapias, a local of Batuan. The outside look of it catches your attention that will surely make you want to explore some more inside! You can also dress up as a Captain and feel like you are in a real ship. They are open everyday from 8am-8pm.

TARSIER CONSERVATION AREA

Next is Tarsier Conservation Area at Loboc, Bohol. Upon entering you will have to pay the entrance fee and should join the orientation in the lobby. From the orientation you will learn a lot of things and facts about these unique mini nocturnal creatures. There are also rules to be followed on Tarsier Watching which includes:
Observing silence upon entering the tarsier premises.
No shouting and minimize your voice inside.
No flash while taking a photo.
No touching of the tarsier.
No eating and smoking inside.
Avoid shaking the branches of trees.
Do not cross or go beyond the perimeter fences

LOBOC RIVER CRUISE

Then we headed to Loboc River Cruise for lunch! Located at Valladolid, Loboc, Bohol. You can actually reserve seats through calling them on their hotlines to make sure you’ll have one upon arriving since there are a lot of walk-in tourists who will have to wait in line for a slot. So for your convenience you might want to reserve in advance. Your tour guide can help you with that  The river cruise will cost you 600/head which includes an Unlimited Buffet with an entertaining music while seeing wonderful sceneries of nature during the hour ride.

And at the end of the river the performance of a group of locals will awe you! You can even dance tinikling and play the *ukulele *with them. Tinikling is a traditional Philippine folk dance which involves dancing on two bamboo poles. They also have a night cruise with dinner buffet, which is also a perfect time for their firefly watching. You'll definitely enjoy the experience here! I just love how relaxing it will make you feel. A must try indeed :)

BOHOL PYTHON AND WILDLIFE PARK

After lunch we then went to Bohol Python and Wildlife Park located at Laya, Baclayon, Bohol. You can choose either you go to their Butterfly Sanctuary or face your fear of snakes by entering their Wildlife Park- where you will be able to see the preserved body of the longest and biggest python snake “PRONY” as well as an alive python snake who happens to be “PRONY 2”.

The entrance fee is 50 pesos but you’ll have to pay another 150 pesos to take picture with the snakes! Yikes! P.S Look for Marimar when going to Bohol Python! You’ll be entertained by the way “he/she” talks and introduces the animals to you! Other than snakes, there are unique birds, cats and monkeys also. And you can buy something for pasalubong at their Souvenir Shop. P.S The picture shows 5 girls and 7 boys hahaha. Actually my boyfriend really fears snakes! That's why you can see him with the girls and not touching the snake :p

BACLAYON CHURCH

And for the last stop- Baclayon Church also known as La Purisima Concepcion de la Virgen Maria Parish Church, a Roman Catholic Church located at Baclayon, Bohol. It is considered as one of the oldest church in the Philippines and still standing firm now even though it was strucked by a magnitude of 7.2 earthquake way back 2013. (Some re-constructions were made though) We actually didn’t have a picture inside, we just dropped by a bit :)

ARRIVED AT THE RESORT AT PANGLAO

And that is all for our Countryside Tour in Bohol! (So little time yet so many beautiful places we've visited!) Yet our trip in Bohol doesn't end there since finally we checked-in in our hotel which happens to be Bohol Diver's Club at Panglao Island. Another famous tourist attraction again- Alona Beach at Panglao Island. Where you can hop from resort-resort just along the beach front. We arrived there at around 4 in the afternoon and that means we can finally take a bath after a long day of roaming around the Island of Bohol yey :) We basically went out strolling by the beach around almost evening so here are some of the pictures!
