My Travel Diary: First of Summer Experience

in travelexperience •  7 years ago

Happy Monday everyone! Oh is it really Monday already? Weekend had passed just like that? 😩 It was a good thing that it's a holiday today so I have an extra day to rest.

I woke up with an aching body this morning probably due to the long hours of travel that we had last Saturday and Sunday. Since my photos are not yet ready, I just thought of sharing with you the travel experiences that we had during these two days that I'm away from Steemit. Ready? I'll try my best to shorten it up so you won't have to read long.

Saturday (April 7,2018)

Our events organizers annouced a 5AM call time the day before. Me being extra arrived at the meetup place at 4AM. And so is my boyfriend. I am the type of person who hates being late, so my boyfriend has no choice but to deal with it. 🤣

We left the place at 6AM and started traveling. Yes, we are an hour late from our scheduled departure time (thanks to the late comers). 😖 We are bound to go to Mauban, Quezon Province where the Port for tourists going to Cagbalete Island is situated. ETA is originally after 3.5hrs of travel but as unexpected as it could be, we arrived at the port after 4.5hrs. I had no idea what happened because I was sleeping the whole time. The zigzag road also made us dizzy, it was insane and it's far worse than that of Baguio's!

Our ever-so-kind manager already fixed the registration for us so when we arrived at the port, we are all set to ride the boat that will take us to the island. The travel took about an hour and it was a bumpy ride, as the waves are so high and strong. Even before we arrived at the island, we are already wet and soaking in water.

It's already low tide when we arrived at the island and unfortunately, the boat couldn't get near the shore and we had no choice but to go down the water and walk to the shore! Taking a small boat ride would take time because of our number. We totally didnt expect that we would get wet that early as we were still wearing a non-beach outfit. My maong shorts got all soaked up and I had to carry my bag over my head to avoid it from getting wet. Oh, what a day!

After that tiring walk, we left our things at the house where we will be staying in, before having a sumptuous late lunch meal.

After lunch, we were given a rest time before we proceeded with the Team building games. I'll do a separate post about that. ☺️

Sunday (April 8,2018)

We left the Island at exactly 9:30 in the morning. Thankfully, we didn't have to walk far to ride the boat and we didnt have to get wet 'cause that's what I worry before.

Unlike the first boat ride, this one went smooth sailing despite the big waves. I didn't get wet as we we're traveling in the direction of the wave and the ride is much more comfortable. My teammate who's seated at the back was the only one who got soaked up! 🤣

We were able to reach the port at 10:30AM and started traveling back to Taguig at 11AM. We had a few stops and side trips and the first one is at Lucban, Quezon.

Lucban, Quezon - famous for their Longganisa, Pancit and the Pahiyas festival.

We bought some Lucban longganisa and Rodilla's Original Yema cake

We also had the chance to visit this old church in Lucban. ❤

After stopping at Lucban, we proceeded with our trip and slept again. When I woke up, we were already at Laguna where we had our late lunch. We arrived at Taguig at 5PM. It was such a long ride. We left the island at 9:30AM and we arrived at 5PM.

But wait, there's more! 🤣We still need to go home to Bulacan. I finally got home at 8:30PM, feeling so drained and tired. That must be the reason why my body aches from sitting that long but it's all worth it! I love every second of that trip. ❤

I hope I could make a post about my Cagbalete experience soon and be able to share the beauty of the island. 💕

Happy Monday everyone!

Photos are all mine unless otherwise stated

Much love,
