I was born 35 years ago in the city of Caracas, capital of Venezuela, and when I was only 8 years old my parents moved to the interior of the country to a small and cozy town called Upata. It was there that I learned about the life of Alejandro Otero, one of the most representative plastic artists of Venezuela with an international reputation.
Today I was in the Alejandro Otero Museum located in the city of Caracas, this incredible museum was built in honor of this contemporary artist who explored space through large sculptures.

The museum is located in the cultural complex La Rinconada, the national horse racing track. The first thing that caught my attention was the almost pyramid-shaped facade made up of panels that are arranged at an angle.
Inaugurated in 1990 the museum is public with large permanent exhibition rooms with a collection of more than 200 works of art by at least 100 national and international artists, the purpose of the museum is to support and encourage art in all its disciplines having a high impact on the surrounding communities where cultural programs are executed a perfect fusion of community and museum.

One of the things that most impressed me about the tour of the museum is how the architect, the museum wolf, thought, the glass and partitions allow direct light to enter after noon creating triangular shadows that give a sense of spatial fragmentation.
Each gallery with its exhibition rooms also has triangular shapes, this is not by chance since the work of Alejandro Otero was always oriented to beautiful sculptures dedicated to the sun and the movement of the wind, many of his sculptures are intricate geometric shapes, so the shape of the museum externally as internally is a tribute to the artist.
The museum has a permanent exhibition space of the life log of the master painter and sculptor showing some of the first works and plans of his most important sculptures. It is necessary to know that some of Otero's works are found in France, the United States of America and mainly in his native Venezuela.
The entrance is totally free and at this moment they have 6 rooms open with collective exhibitions belonging to international artists like Andy Warhol and national artists like Zapata.

In each of the rooms there are different artistic styles, where I could appreciate Pop Art, Kinetic Art, Geometric Abstract, Realism, Expressionism, Contemporary Installations, Video Art, Silk Screen Printing. A fairly large number of works at least 50 works in this exhibition that will be open until next month.

Access is much more convenient by private car, since to get to the museum by public transport you must go to the subway station called La Rinconada and then walk at least 5 blocks to the main entrance. However, the visit to this beautiful museum will be worthwhile, once you are in it you will not want to leave, it has areas to rest where you can contemplate the changes in the shadows thanks to the changes in lighting.

Without a doubt, today was a very special day because I remembered so many anecdotes of my theater teacher who was a friend of Alejandro Otero. Even though I was born here in the Venezuelan capital, I feel a deep admiration for the place where I grew up and trained artistically. I invite you to take a tour of this beautiful museum and I know you will like it as much as I do.

Conclusion
This museum of my ranking table of 10 I give 8 points, despite being 30 years old and having little maintenance the museum is in good condition.
