Belgium is one of the small countries of Europe that are very well developed politically and economically. He is a founding member of the European Union, and there is also its headquarters. Since the seventeenth century, it was famous for its prosperous trade and not only for the vast culture it held.

It is also called the essence of Europe, being located between the Netherlands and France, contains everything that Europe has best to offer. Belgium boasts many medieval towns and breathtaking castles. It is one of the romantic cities that deserve to be visited, certainly will be the unique experience for every tourist.

Belgium became independent of the Netherlands in 1830 and was occupied by Germany during both world wars. It prospered in the last half of the 20th century as a modern European state, a member of the European Union and NATO. Tensions between the Flemish speakers in the north and the French speakers in the south have made these regions formally autonomous.

Belgium is in the west of Europe, bordering the North Sea, France, and the Netherlands. It has an area of 30,510 sq. Km, of which 30,230 sq. Km is the dry land. The climate of Belgium is temperate, with mild winters and cool summers.

Capital: Brussels
