WHY WE FELL IN LOVE WITH BARCELONA - #1 - THE ARCHITECTURE

in travelfeed •  7 years ago

I am a Barcelona lover, but only from afar. I first ran into this architecture in a college art class with a teacher who was also in love with it. He had visited the city many times and showed us a lot of photos. Like you say, it is impossible to place some of it in the past or future. Maybe it is timeless.

I have never seen the monastery before now though. What incredible views. That sure does not look like how I imagine Spain to be. And it's so funny to know that a monastery would have all the tourist trappings! I try to avoid that anywhere I go, but it is increasingly difficult.

You have really fantastic and unique angles in your photos. I have been looking at photos of Gaudi's work ever since I took that class, and you show me things I have not seen before.

Congrats on your curie vote. This is how I found your post, and I am so glad I saw it today.

Thank you very much :) I was familiar with Gaudí's work and his unusual approach in different architectural solutions prior to our arrival to Barcelona...however, once I personally stood in front of his art the only word that had echoed throughout my mind was "genius". See you out there !

I hope you will. This is definitely one of the places on my list!
