Menacing as they look these jelly fishes are the friendliest on Earth! They do not sting at all. Yes I was shocked myself but my experience in Sohoton Bucas Grande Surigao was an eye opener. IMG_20190504_094228.jpg

See me touch them. I find myself speechless at its common to hear stories of people dying from their sting.

I read there are only two places with such jellyfish -Palau and in Surigao. How blessed I am to have such a rare experience indeed. See me play with them IMG_20190429_183447.jpg

I also read from many blogs that apart from this brown -white spotted creature there is also a blue one which was nowhere in sight. Our boatman warned us against lifting it off the water as it dehydrates them. I find it awkward to hold them as I'm scared I would end up crashing them with my palms or fingers.

For this experience one has to pay a 100per pax and queue but since we had a tour package we had faster transactions than most. While waiting we took time capture the picturesques Sohoton

To reach this spot we have to travel two hours in a motorized boat from the town market. Also we need to wake up early, heat our bum sitting ,brave high tides and with that you'd be able to understand why we took too many pictures to capture the experience.

The place was exceptionally clean that you'd wonder if you're still in Philippines. The regionwide ban on plastic perfectly made all this possible. See how clear the blue water is. IMG_20190429_191433.jpg

This is one of few places I am proud of. The coastal management is superb.Stakeholders are so strict on its implementation . They understand that as long as the place is pristine clean tourist will pour in that they need noy resort to illegal practices which are destructive to the environment and risky to their limbs.

I would want field trips be done here so the younger generation understand how lucrative it can be if we only care for our natural resources.
