We completed our 4th work camping gig since embarking on our full-time adventure almost 2 years ago. Each experience has been different and we’ve picked up some great new skills and met some incredible people that we are proud to call friends along the way.

We ran the gamut of work experiences. From floor supervisors at Yellowstone, to agricultural workers at the Sugar Beet Harvest to tax professionals at Jackson Hewitt. All that was left was to work in a campground or camping resort to round out our experience.

Workamping At Colorado Heights Camping Resort:

This past summer we worked, played and lived at the Colorado Heights Camping Resort. Located in Monument CO this resort is a family-oriented park with something to do for everyone. We pulled in to the park on May 4th, found a spot and settled in for a week before we started working.

Colorado Heights Camping Resort – The Job:

Julia worked in the front office taking reservations, checking guests in and out and providing stellar guest experiences. I worked in maintenance escorting guests, making repairs as needed and making sure things ran smoothly during my shift. The owner was incredibly easy to work for and provided everything we needed to do our jobs.

Things To Do Near Monument:

On our days off we had the pleasure of enjoying some incredible day trips. Hiking at the Palmer Lake Reservoir, A view from the top of Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and the Manitou Cliff Dwellings to name a few. I even took a casual hike up to the top of the Manitou Springs Incline (not recommended for the faint of heart).

In Summary:

We thoroughly enjoyed our time work camping at Colorado Heights Camping Resort. We got to meet some incredible people, enjoy the beauty of Colorado and work, play and live in an incredible environment at Colorado Heights Camping Resort. Would we do it again? Absolutely, in a heartbeat!

If you are a full-time or even part-time traveler who workcamps then we highly recommend a summer at Colorado Heights Camping Resort.

There are many chances to have a good time in Colorado. However, this is so hot for me there. I can't live without the best camping air conditioner unit. So, I usually take this thing with me and many of my friends don't understand this move but this is essential for me.
